Since I've waited this long to play 2K13 I guess I might as well wait till Black Friday to pick it up. Haven't played 2K13 aside from the demo but of all the games I have played I like NBA Live 10 the best.

Re: Greatest NBA game of all time?
NBA 2K series, no doubt about it. NBA 2K13 being the best IMHO. I have enjoyed all the 2K games, all great games except 2K4. I still own all the NBA 2K games, from Dreamcast to today's consoles versions and I absolutely hate 2K4.
Other personal Favorite Basketball games:
Lakers vs Celtics (Genesis)
NBA Action 98
NBA Inside Drive 2003
NBA Live 96 (Genesis)
NBA Live 97 (PSOne)
NBA Live 98 (PSOne)
NBA Live 99 (PSOne)
NBA Live 2004 (PC)
NBA Live 2005 (Xbox)
NBA Give N Go (SNES)
Team USA Basketball (Genesis)
NBA JAM (Arcade)
NBA Hangtime (N64)
NBA JAM (Wii)Comment

Re: Greatest NBA game of all time?
NBA Live 95 and 98 (LOVED 98 - good game).
But for me, it's NBA 2K11, hands down. What we did here at OS, providing classic rosters (360) starting with the 1984-85 season is nothing short of amazing. So this game will forever be a mainstay in my gaming library - I felt it was groundbreaking when it came out, and I'm still amazed at the simulation I get from it (and many types of outcomes). Once the sliders were developed (took me a LONG time to get them, but they're perfect now) I was able to remove some definite user advantages, while giving the CPU some strong qualities in certain areas.
I also enjoyed NBA 2K8, but once I played 2K11 I simply could not go back to that game.
I also enjoyed the Bird / Dr. J game WAY back in the day on the old school computer (I believe it was a floppy disk).STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

NBA Action 98 (PC) is one of my favorite. I still have it on my desktop on this PC, ready to run (I just wish I could play it with a controller, don't think I can). One of the first basketball games that were actually trying to go for sim style. Terrible graphics even for back then, but the gameplay was pure gold.My Specs:

Re: Greatest NBA game of all time?
I actually thought 2K4's graphics were great back then. The first time I played it I was amazed by the graphics/presentation. I thought it was the best looking basketball in 2003-2004. Looking - not playing. back then, 2K took the EA route: make your game look good, but play horrible.
Funny, that EA was actually producing good games back then (Live 2004, Live 05).My Specs:

I seen the title of this thread and instantly thought NBA 2K11. But game play wise, 2K13 is superior. It's so smooth on the court. But, I have to go with 2K11. Not only did it make huge leaps in gameplay but the introduction of the Jordan challenge.
Also, Aloncho and Juan gave 2K11 huge replay value on the PC with the 91-92 season mod.
