Thanks guys. Why would they make the quarter length and difficulty frozen when you start? That's a pretty piss poor design decision.

    A) It's been well established that you CAN change the difficulty settings in game.

    B) It's not piss poor design. I've had the 3 editions of Inside Drive on Xbox, and it has never once occurred to me to want to change the quarter length mid season. It's not piss poor design, it's more like an unlikely request. If I was designing a perfect game, the ability to do that would not even cross my mind. It isn't a common alteration people want to make.

Yes, it is a poor design decision. Why can I change the difficulty inside the game but not in the menu system? Poor decision. The quarter length isn't a big deal, but usually I play the first couple games of my season to determine what the best quarter length for me is--however, I can't do that because it's frozen for some stupid reason. I like the game but those two things kind of irked me. There's absolutely no reason to freeze it, since like every other basketball game in existance allows you to change those things without a problem.

If you want to see the best quarter time for you, play a couple of exhibition games before you start your season. Obviously you need some time to get into the game if you don't know which quarter length is good for you.

Second, the difficulty change becomes sticky and stays as whatever you set it to in game. If you set the difficulty to rookie at the start of season, and then start a game, and change it to veteran, after you finish that game, the next game will start as veteran.

It's not a big deal at all...

                  Re: Changing difficulty in season?

See, here's the thing--I played a couple games and decided that 6 min quarters were good with my fast break style so I started my season. Well, now I've started to slow things down and run more of a set offense with the cavs, causing my stats to go way off again. I'd bump up the quarters to 7 min now if I could, but I can't--I'm stuck with 6. The problem with set time limits is that it you can't adjust it later to your skill level. I might start out at 80 ppg, but after 10 games be up to 100 ppg, or vice versa. I'm sure that this has happen to a lot of gamers. I'm glad I can change the difficulty level--why it makes you do in it the game and not in the menu is beyond me. I'm guessing that that was a bug missed in testing.
