About the graphics this year...

I know there's been a lot of mention that the player models don't look great (i.e. few accurate player models etc.), but it's clear that the team completely overhauled the graphics engine from last year, as even though many of the faces look generic, even some of the ones that were properly modelled last year, they definitely appear more detailed.

I think that they overhauled the engine now, so that in the future, the graphics will be all the better. Next year, with the improved engine, and the time to re-model all the faces, the game should look pretty good. I mean, the faces that are done right are pretty good.

So yeah, as much as the faces aren't the greatest this year, I definitely think they've built the foundation for something good in the future.

For me the graphics are ok. Not great, but good enough. Some faces are good and a lot are bad but if they take time with every player they should be right. The textures on the jerseys are pretty ugly, they look like pastel paints or something.

Anyway, all that aside I think they look fine in the gameplay views. They just need better animation. The dunks and jumpers (especially the new momentum on the jumpers) look really good, but it's simple things like dribbling and running that need work. When the guys run, it looks strange. They lift their arms to their shoulders too high and the arms flap a bit too much too.
My point... while the models and textures could use work, I still think they are acceptable for now and the game would look drastically different if the animations improved.

ID for me is the best game this year, but over the years it seems, at least visibly, that it's the game that improves or adds the least every season. But I do hope they continue to beef up the graphics.

if they keep the game precisely the same next year and JUST sort out graphics and animations it will be the best game ever. animations like NBA live for dribbling, shots, those hanging shots etc and a few more moves (i think the current moves are ok, not too unrealistic).
It would just be the sickest coz noone elses gameplay even comes near half of the gameplay.
there is nothing they need to improve on it (except the stats, like fouls counting as shots and rebounds)

Well, in fairness they need to greatly overhaul the franchise too. I would suggest going in the direction that NBA ShootOut has, instead of trying to compete with what Live and ESPN do with their Dynasty's.

At least the game IMPROVES, and doesn't detract from its gameplay for the most part. They need to put in a more sophisticated jab step system, still work on blocks and charges called in the paint, and make the D even better with the defender's hands constantly moving, making it harder to make an entry pass, etc.

the graphics aren't the best of the games, ESPN NBA looks a lot prettier, but I don't really notice this as much, as long as I enjoy playing...i'm not really a graphics whore at all, so I just want something that plays well
