Passing and points in the paint

I have some questions regarding passing and points in the paint before buying ID2004, since these are big gameplay issues for me:

How is the passing game? Does everyone pass like Kidd? Are there any missed passes?
Is there a passing rating for each player which actually makes a difference?
Can I hit a player down low with any point guard from mid-court without any player intercepting the pass?

How do shot charts look like? Do 90% of the points come form inside the paint like in every other basketball game?
Is there a real way to limit inside scoring?

Cavegol, welcome to ID 2004. The passing game is probably better than any game out there. They make the right passes at the right times. You will not be passing from half court to the paint, mainly because if you try, you will get picked off. JKidd has different passes than the lesser talented PG's. He is more likely to thread the needle, whereas other's wouldn't be able to. Of course, on Rookie level you can pass the same with everyone. They also have a one touch tip passing which is excellent for running the break.

The shot charts are accurate. You will see shots taken from the baseline, mid range, long range, up close, in the paint, from the elbows, everywhere. This is the thing that ID does the best. They run real plays and look for the open man. I usually score about 45% of my points in the paint with the Cavs, and that is only because I have boozer and Z down low who score about 14 a piece per game. You can throw on a zone defense and help limit inside scoring, but then you have to stop the mid range game and long distance game. ANything else, just ask...

There need to be more missed passes, and there need to be actual blocks and charges called in the paint (they're still not called, but the fouls overall are MUCH better than last year's).

There's not much I dislike about this game other than what I stated.
