    created player/one issue

    I just got ID (I live in japan and it took a while to order) after playing ESPN for a long time. I like ESPN but feel there is something missing as far as realism. Anyway, I have a few questions please.

    1). i created a player and his rating was a 66? This is a joke. He can never be a star. I tried to use incentive based but he sucked so bad there was no chance. Is this the only way to create a hopeful superstar?

    2). i traded both picks and at the end of the year (after drafts) the screen froze. now i have to start over again. has anyone else seen this issue?

    I haven't done much with created players in this years version. Last year though when using incentive within 20 or 30 games my player was unstoppable.

    Set him up for easy baskets, and so forth.. as he gets better it gets easier and easier to get attribute points.

          The "player gets better as he plays better" always has a been a self fullfiling prophecy, in that, if you can make a better by playing better (instead of natural progression) then a bad player will almost always get worse, and a great player will become god-like. You really have to work at it to get the opposite to happen.

You really have to work at it to get the opposite to happen.

                does incentive mean that he only progress if i play and not sim? he average 16 points a game his 1st year and did not move. i also had tony parker stay the same. does incentive/progression apply to all players or just created ones?

                      If I've read the manual correctly, it says that if you put it onto incentive then you have control of the created players stats after you play games with them and perform well... and non created players stay with a natural progression.

                      I've gone in and played a few games in a season and the only guys that got points to distrubte were the created players.

                        I've gone in and played a few games in a season and the only guys that got points to distrubte were the created players.
