Playing Defense is Tough in this Game

Anyone else struggle with D? Any tips for good D?

i am too. i can't see to get in front of my guy and if i do he blows past. i have decided i can non longer cover the point guard on defenese. Finally, I did find one thing that helped a little. i went to a High Slash camera and it helps to position yourself in front.

I used to use the PG on D and would get killed, now I just pick my power forward, cover his man, and let the cpu cover the point. It's really helped out my game (among other things)...it's just too easy to beat me off the dribble as the pg, and plus I jump to block a shot too early. Try using another player on D, that might help

I used to use the PG on D and would get killed, now I just pick my power forward, cover his man, and let the cpu cover the point. yeah, sticking with the ballhandler is pretty challenging at times, depending on what camera view you're playing from. I like to do a lot of switching and manual double teams on D to throw people off.

Learning to pick off passes is key too. Anticipate the pass, shoot the passing lane and hammer the B button repeatedly as the ball gets to you. Mastering this can lead to a lot of easy transition buckets.

Challenge every shot, especially short jumpers. Even if you miss the block, you'll lower your opponent's chance of hitting dramatically. If you can clog up the lane and limit the other guy's points in the paint, you can usually get a lot of def. rebounds and easy runouts.

Never try to swipe (steal) the ball away from a ballhandler. The potential payoff just doesn't come close to the likelihood of getting called for a reach-in or giving the ballhandler a chance to dribble right around you and slash to the hole.

For people that like to go inside on you here is a good defense:

Use the 1-2-2, double the big guys in the paint, if they like to drive with guards double the guards ond the perimeter. You need to get very good at the ICON defense switching. Switch between your SG and SF to help double were needed.
