That's the thing though, the shot stick as it's currently implemented is only precise in very certain situations, namely, baseline cameras. Sideline or broadcast views make the shot stick imprecise, as it takes time for your brain to process your position on the court relative to the basket or to the camera, and the absolute controls cause dissonance for the same reason.

With button presses, I can know that a certain combination of buttons will perform a certain move every time, regardless of my position on the screen. This is particularly the case with Live's hop-step and euro-step controls. I wouldn't mind a shot stick type of control scheme in live as an option, but they need to figure out how to make it more predictable, because outside of spin jumpers and some other moves in 2K, it doesn't feel comfortable.

I've never really had any issues with the shot stick....I'm comfortable with the stick or the button to be honest ... I think the only beef I've ever had with the stick was catch and shoot situations.....but they've smoothed that out this past year.

The shot stick has been praised by the majority gamers and reviewers since its implementation...it's a solid mechanic ....but Live should stay exactly how it is....if for nothing else to continue to carve out its own identity...

This question is too easy for me.

I'd switch to Live if the gameplay is decent and they have online franchise done correctly - or at least with the basics.

Thats all it takes for my 60.

Live has to do what every other game, including 2K, does for my money; release a quality product that is both fun and deep. It doesn't need to be perfect. Every game has its quirks. I'm cool with that. Every game I own has issues that irk me. I buy Madden every year. Yes, it's the only football option. Yes, there are major issues with it still. The neglect of CFM (the only mode I really play) has killed the replay value for me as I don't get down with the online stuff. BUT, every year me and my buddies have a ball playing and smack talking. The holidays ain't the holidays without Madden. That makes it worth it in my book. I'd still buy Madden even if there was a better, more sim option on the table. Just give me enough to keep me coming back. However, I will not buy an inferior product if a much better one is sitting next to it. I won't purchase for the sake of competition. That's not my problem. My business is earned with the best, better, or more unique product. Heck, I can buy two games of the same sport if both games are compelling enough. If Live 16 has solid gameplay (possible), a deep franchise mode (doubtful), and animates well I will pick it up day one. I'll give it a shot, but business has to be earned.

People glorify 2K as if there's no problems with it and vice versa. People can't seem to see the fact that there's two options available. You buy one, you can buy the other or buy both. People are like 2K is my ish, but they need to do this for me to switch over to LIVE, NO, they don't. Live and 2K doesn't have to cater to needs for you to buy, in the end, people are going to buy what they want and enjoy.

People acting like buying Live is like trying out for the chess team rather than playing football. Ain't nothing wrong with chess if you actually...key word actually enjoy it

This coming from the crowd of dudes that buy a game primarily because of past glory and nostalgia. Not for its merit today, but because it made them happy as a child, when that game, and the people that made it are LONG gone. Before you criticize one side of the boat, swim on the other. You're right, buy the game because you like it. Like it for what it truly is. Not what you wish it would be. Or what you think it COULD be at some arbitrary point in the future. Criticizing someone for their reasons to not buy one game is wrong when you applaud reasons to not buy the other.

Exactly. We can do it better. How about switching to (game whatever) when: it becomes the better game. I think that's reasonable and expected, right?

shot stick is dope because it allows you to finish with your hand of choice on layups. and you get to do a wide variety of shots. in some situations, pressing the shot button can be a dice roll, but i don't want them to take out the option either.
