hey OSUPiper, I was trying to get your sliders from last year to this year to try it out but I don't know how to convert it..

it's a 100 max for settings this year.. so when i look at yours, I didn't know what the heck the clicks meant

ie:
(20 max)
9 clicks

it probably could be multiplied by 5 to get the same 100 scale but some settings you had were (40 max) ??

so that threw me for a loop..

have u played 2k8 yet? tried to convert your sliders over?

let us know pls

SemiNOLES I am thinking about converting over as well.

It really isn't that fun controlling all 5 players when playing the CPU. Also that way I don't have to worry about playing on ball defense all of the time and get called un-sim if I were to do that vs a HUMAN dude.

But I think I will start with controlling one player in college. Probably Sherron Collins and when he subs out I will turn COACH MODE on.

I think I will do the same with NBA whenever I have my rosters finalized.

Coach mode is fun... its just frustrating when, you can only pick 4 plays using the D-pad (but the playbook menu has it as a button), your plays reset during game play... and you cant do on the fly subs.

being unable to visably see your players put pressure on ball that affects the ball handler. and not seeing your skilled guards drive to the basket enough especially when they have a clear speed advantage (could be tendency related)... which brings me to a question.

Is it "cheating" if i tamper with a players tendency to get the most out of him? since it technically is like "coaching"... maybe a house rule? dunno.

I haven't gone next gen yet (law school, and I simply think $400 is too much for a machine that has no use other than gaming), so no new sliders. The only time I regret not having a next gen system is when 2k hoops is released.

So, my sliders are for PS2, although it looked like some guys used a modified set with some success. Last year, I just tried to help out. The big focus with sliders is understanding the balance. I picked the biggest gameplay issue and got that the way I wanted it. Generally that is the flow of the game and the speed, so I would concentrate initially on FG tendencies.

When offensive flow and shot selection seemed appropriate, I would look at FG%s for each position and possessions. Lastly, there are balance issues and tradeoffs. In this game it is generally too many steals/blocks vs too few turnovers. After all, it is just a videogame, not reality, and it is balanced to give a fun experience. (Not all basketball games are fun to watch, by contrast.)

Having said this, and understanding my limitations by not owning the new version, I would be glad to help and provide feedback on any general issues that people are having with sliders.

you realize that your PG calls plays anyhows even if you don't specifically call a play..?

i just let my team run the offense and only call specific plays in key spots if at all.. I do call the defense though

and on the fly subbing is ... I don't miss it at all

the subs screen actually give all the info you need in one glance and makes it very helpful to figure out sub rotations..
here are the key info you'll see in one screen on the sub menu
OVR, Position, Energy, and most important: Fouls

so ya, on the fly subbing is nice but sub screen is like 3 clicks away, no problem at all going to it

i just let my team run the offense and only call specific plays in key spots if at all.. I do call the defense though

right... but im the coach. so i want to be the one calling the plays. not leave it up to my pg to pick a "random" play. for no apparent reason.

if i knew he was calling plays based on his ratings and it was deep liek that id allow it... but that is not the case. so I'd like to be involved when a play is called.

I actually used piper settings from 2k6 and thought they were great. Last year I converted his 2k6 settings to use in 2k7 and they worked great again. at the top of the slider section he indicated whether the max settings were for 20 or for 40. if they were for 20 I multiplied by 5 to get the new number and if they were for 40 I multiplied by 2.5 to recieve the right value.
This year again I will start off using Piper settings and use the same numbers from last year. I have played two half games because I haven't been able to sit down and finish a complete game of coach mode but I have to admit from what I seen so far using piper converted settings I think I hit the jack pot again.

Im bout to update my sliders for cpu vs cpu they can be also use for coach mode and player lock.....my guards drives to the hoop alot douglass roberts is a beast for me so far...rose is even playing like him self(I did raise his off/def awareness so he can be gone next year tho) he drives, throws oops all day...which sometimes goes out of bounds lol!

Hey, u do know u can access a total of 8 plays, 4 with just the d pad and 4 others when press the L trigger and the d pad.


As far as sliders go, im having big fun on all conference default.

You guys having any success getting some transition game out of your teams? My team never seems to want to run the break, and since I am USC, that's sort of the strength of my team.

Pause the game. Then goto coach setting and change your team's offensive tempo.
