Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Using the 2010/2011 roster on ps3, Montana State are great fun to use for legacy... Big center, some outside shooting, and a decent PG for a small school. You only have 9 on the roster for the first year, but it does mean you have 8 scholarships to give and improve straight away :-)

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Well Miami (OH) was up and down, started off slow as again I thought the MAC would be easy, not realizing Akron and Western Michigan had been dominating the conference year in and year out. Went 17-14 the first year, next year was slightly better going 19-12, before we finally made the big dance in year three, only by way of winning the conference tournament (finished 19-14) and got bounced in the first round, but it was my first tournament appearance so felt good!

It was followed up by the 2nd best year at Miami (OH) in my tenure, going 29-8 but only making it to the 2nd round this time. The team started to get a bit disappointing though the next couple years (from what I remember we were good enough to compete for the MAC title, but were falling short). Two 23 win seasons, with 10 losses and 11 losses which were only good enough for the NIT. By the 2nd to last season I was really wanting to leave, but couldn't convince myself to go to another mid-major as Miami (OH) wasn't that bad, and going to another school I'd probably start all over.

My final season there happened to be the best, going 30-6 but again not making it to the Sweet 16 (knocked out in the 2nd round). That year, Bo Ryan had decided to call it a career leaving Wisconsin needed a coach. Of the available jobs, it was top of my list primarily as Wisconsin had been doing well in the tournament over the past few years, seemingly either always in a final 4 or damn near close. Granted Wisconsin basketball and my style of basketball were radically different, but still wanted the job pretty badly.

Of course, apparently Wisconsin also knew our styles were radically different as they barely gave me a look, but it was (kind of) okay because Bob McKillop had retired, and he had replaced Roy Williams at UNC about 5 seasons prior. They weren't in the greatest shape, but they were the one power school who wanted me (I was top or 2nd on the list), and its UNC so hard to say no.

First year was awful, primarily as I like guys who can shoot the mid range and 3 point shots, and the entire UNC team seemed to all slashers. Team went 15-15 that season, hey wren't that great to start but overall rating wise better then that (though overall isn't everything). Next season was the dramatic turn around, going 27-9, though only reaching the 2nd round (my favorite place to suck as a coach apparently).

Going to cut short, so basically we made the tournament the next couple years, going out in the second round then finally breaking the duck and getting all the way to the Final Four before losing. We lost our jr point guard, and a couple of quality seniors after the final four run, and we struggled with the underclassmen (a junior and senior formed the front court though), managing to barely make the bubble but not get off it, so we got to play in the NIT (yay).

This season (the one I went through all that to get to), We had Daig and Nutter in the front court, both seniors one 6'11 the other 6'10. Daig had a good mid-range jumper and decent from three, while Nutter wasn't great from mid-range but had a good three for a PF (83 iirc). Had my Cameroonian sophomore point guard, he was okay last year but not great (despite good shooting stats and average passing/handling), Robbins (another sophomore) played shooting guard, and is one hell of a shooter who hasn't quite shown it yet though. Andrews, a junior, was our SF and I'm not really sure what he is. Decent shooter, decent defender, somehow rates highly.

Managed to have a good bounce back season from the NIT season of last year, Nutter and Daig were usually putting up 15+ points and grabbing a few boards while my PG had the best step up (IMO) with a near 7 Assist per game average, 7 points per game (lower then I liked for his skills), and dropped his turnover rate from near 3 to just barely 2 a game. Robbins was meh before he got injured for the rest of the season, bringing in Frye fresh from whining about playing time. Andrews was up and down, he'd either play well or bad and never knew which. None the less we managed some good wins over top 25 teams, how many stayed there I didn't look, but at the time they were good. Had a couple bad losses in conference play, which I chalked up to looking past to the bigger games. None the less we made it to the tournament as a 4 seed, and I was expected to walk past UALR, and hopefully get through the 2nd round to at least the Sweet 16. Instead we decided to blow it against UALR, a disappointing end to what could of been a great season.

Of course I want to leave UNC, mainly as I'm having the issues I had when I did a close dynasty at Citadel a while ago, recruiting is such a pain in the *** in the Carolinas. I'm feeling like I'm fighting tooth and nail for even 4 star recruits at times, which I would of thought would be fairly easy for UNC, but apparently it isn't. Would LOVE to go to Arizona as it is my end goal job, but Mark Few keeps doing well enough and doesn't seem like he plans to ever retire...

I won two National Championships at Kansas in my first three years. The first one, we barely won over Indiana (87-84), but the second year was truly dominant. Only one loss (opening game against UNC), and we cruised the rest of the way to another NC, this time over SanDiego State in a romp (I think a fifteen point win). Year four wasn't as good, as I had to replace all but one starter from two championship seasons. We finished 17-14, including a first round loss. But we're currently sitting at #1 again, and I don't see why we can't win a third title (especially with my 20 ppg-averaging Center).

I've had the game for less than half a week and I am loving it to death. I restarted my closed legacy with Southern Utah and we are 6-0. The best player on my team is a 65 OVR and I have no point guards or power forwards on my roster. Despite; I still am having an awesome time.

I've won the WAC regular season once, the WAC Tournament twice, made one final four. But I've pulled 3 top 25 classes, 3 five stars, and 10 4 stars.

I'm still having trouble signing 5* and some 4* players, and I've made the Final Four four times at Kansas (winning 2 NCs, making a third). I start off the season as their #1, and by the time signing week ends, I'm nearly out of the recruit's top five (if they don't sign during signing week, of course).

You need to start looking for the high rated recruits when they are hs freshman. That's how I started landing 5 star guys.

Interesting, I never bothered with underclassmen. I figured since I'm at such a small school I wouldnt have a chance anyway. Also their rating fluctuates to much for my liking, but maybe I should start giving them a look

There's also normally 2-3 5*s that no one else goes after til the second signing period. If they have the right makeup you can sign them in season with relative ease.

Well Fellas, I'm starting over my Legacy. I realized I was playing on All Conference and so I bumped it up to MOP and now Im coach of the Long Island Black Birds. I couldn't take pride in winning on a easy difficulty..

Kansas is almost impossiboe to recruit at a high level because of their location.

If anyone else has been able to haul in consistent 5 star guys, please let me know.

Would be interesting to see which programs users feel are the most easiest to recruit with in regards to pulling in multiple 5 star players every year.

In my Southern Utah legacy, I can't even get a 3-star and I am in the first signing period and have no commits. By now I only have 1800 recruit points, is that to little? I am only targeting those who have the most interest in me, but is there someone else I should recruit? I have so many questions, I am new to the game.

Update: I am 7-0 for the season on A-C sliders.
