My team caught fire and we finished the season 17-12 winning the conference tournament. I don't know where it came from. Instead of taking only 5 or 6 3''s a game since my team was terrible, the key to winning was chucking up 25 a game and hoping I hit 10. My team shot terrible from anywhere on the court, so chucking up 3's didn't hurt since I was going to finish the game shooting 38% either way.
I received a 16 seed and faced UNC in round 1. They won 53-64 and went on to win the title. I lost 6 players to graduation and regressed from a 70 to a 65. However my two best players are freshmen and my team now actually has some offense to it despite "regressing". My PG can drive and shoot a jumper and is able to take a couple 3's a game and make 1. My SG can drive and hit a jumper and is also able to probably hit 1 in 2 or 3 3's per game. He is one of the Fr. My SF is actually a PF and is the other highly rated Fr. He can hit a mid range jumper or play in the post. My PF and C are a Jr and So and can play the post and rebound.
Coming off of the bench for the 6th man role is my best all around scorer probably, but he lacks the defense to start. Then I have another big man to rotate for the two starters as well as a SF that plays SG as well and then a true backup PG that plays a handful of minutes.
I set my nonconference schedule up to feature a good amount of weaker teams this year, so I am looking to grab a few more wins than the last few years. If my defense isn't too big of a liability this season I may be able to get to that 20 win mark this time around and maybe even get lucky enough to win the conference tournament again. Delaware St is still the best team at around a 73-75, but they have yet to win the regular season title or even make the conference championship game in either season, so they aren't as scary anymore since they tend to not play to their potential either. Bethune Cookman is who has won both regular season titles and the other conference tournament despite only being a 70 both years.
