Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I just finished year 2. Didnt see a lot of good players leave to smaller schools ^^

In the tourny i did beat Ohio State by 1 and went on to face Arizona in the 2nd round. I was up 15 at halftime.... then it slipped away. Outscored 44-18 in the 2nd half. Killed. I decided to return to Brown for at least one more year. I have 5 scholarships, and i figure if i get some quality players, i may stay at least until 7'6" Jennings graduates. If i dont get the players i want, i may leave. I know there are more options after year 2 than year 3, and there were some tempting ones, mainly teams like Portland, Wright State, Illinois St, and Niagara. My best offer was Northern Iowa, who was a 2 seed inthe tourny and reached the Elite Eight (GOnzaga won as a 5 seed; WMU and BYU both lost as 1 seeds in the first round)

So well see how this year goes and who i can recruit. I brought in a great SG (chose him over the PF) and hopefully he'll be a great piece to the puzzle. I expect a Sweet 16 this year at worst. Have a tough nonconference schedule. I play Duke, UMass, San Francisco, Midd Tenn ST (theyre an 80 ovr), and Arizona hoping to get revenge

I do remember when this game was new that I saw Michael Beasley transfer from K-State to I wanna say Missouri St or Creighton. Definetly a MVC team. And Malcolm Lee from UCLA transferred to UC Riverside in 2 of my legacies. Other than that no big name people, but i do see people transfer from SEC schools to SWAC schools and stuff like that

Check your rosters before you start a legacy and make sure those big name players are in the rotations. If those kids don't get enough minutes for their teams they'll transfer.

Southern Jaguars are looking forward to starting the 3th full season under Gomes.

Gomes and the Jags finished over .500 (17-16) in his first year taking over the head coaching duties left behind by the current Athletic Director. After changing up the style and going with the "40 minutes of hell" inspired uptempo play style learned from area playgrounds, Gomes immediately shifted the morale of Southern who were previously bottom feeders in the SWAC.

With fan support, exciting play and happy players, Gomes and the Jags won the conference tournament unexpectedly and also put up a great fight against the 16 seeded Syracuse Orange in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

In year 2 under Gomes, expectations was high and with the core of the team coming back as Sophomores, The Jags finished the year with a 24-14 record while finishing 14-4 in conference play and successfully defending their conference tournament championship.

Awarded as a 14th seed, the Jags defeated 3rd seeded Marshall with a last minute buzzer beater by SR F Ivan Jefferies. Days later, de ja vu struck when the Jags was able to pull off another game winning buzzer beater this time against Northeastern, which launch the Jags into the Sweet Sixteen.

Midnight struck against overly matched Georgia Tech as they would go on to destroy the Mighty Jaguars.

Now this year, with 4 returning starters coming back and 3 SR's graduating, the Jags are heavy favorites to easily run away with the SWAC Title for the first time in 20 years and also have the goal of winning their 3rd straight SWAC Tournament Championship.

5'11 SR G Brandon Odugbela returns after leading the SWAC in assist with 5 per. 6'2 SR G Dawan Wooten who lead the Jags in scoring with 15ppg returns after making over 100 3 pointers last year. Sharp shooting 6'5 SO G Darius McDade will complement Wooten's scoring on the other side of the perimeter, McDade shot 48% from behind the arc last year scoring 13ppg.

The front court features 6'7 JR F Calvin Head who is a former BYU transfer and should have an immediate impact on both sides of the ball. Head can defend all 5 positions and have a nice mid range jumper to go along with his malicious rebounding. Along side Head is crowd favorite and the high flying 6'8 JR F Anderson Beckwith, Beckwith lead the Jags in rebounding last year with 10 a game.

Southern Returns with a very young but talented bench lead but 5'9 SO G Kyile Garner, Garner with his 8ppg will be joined by 6'5 SO G/F Younes Guzman, Guzman will see more time in the back court this year with the loss of their two SR G's. 6'7 JR F Diamond Cochran will battle 6'6 top recruit Emilio Matela for significant playing time at the Forward spot.

Elite 8 vs #3 Duke - It was a close game in the 1st Half, but they led at Halftime 40-38. They came out firing in the 2nd half and stretched the lead to as many as 16. They pretty much controlled the majority of the 2nd half.

Then with the score at 78-69 with 1:50 left came one of the greatest comebacks of my career. My Freshman SG Morkeliunas hit a 3 and got fouled for the 4 pt play to cut it to 78-73. They a steal on the inbounds and layin to cut it to 78-75. Full court pressure got to Duke again and another steal and dunk cut it to 78-77 with 1:28 left. Another Duke TO and we layed it in to take the lead 79-78 with 1:11 left. Duke went for 3 and missed, we got it back and scored again to bring the lead to 81-78. Duke took the ball down and drove for the layup...but OFFENSIVE FOUL as I drew the charge. I made my FTs, a rarity for this season (18-20 from the line) and we closed it out to win 85-80 and advance to the Final Four. A 16-2 run in the final 1:50.

In the Final Four we face UCLA, the other SF is Georgia Tech/Louisville.
Picked back up after a brief break from the game. Faced UCLA in the Final Four. Was pretty close at first, but they pulled away at the end of the 1st half and led 42-29 at Half.

2nd half was more of the same as they ran away with it and won 93-79. UCLA lost to GT in the finals. Finish the season 26-10, and 20 game turnaround from the season before I got here. Now look forward to year two in the ACC. Also Coach K retired and some guy from Nevada (not Mark Fox, a guy that replaced Mark Fox) replaces him at Duke, which should be interesting.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I've struggled to get into this game since I got it last year. I loved 2k7 and got four years into legacy mode (That's far for me). I think it's because I just wasn't very good and would get tired of getting my butt handed to me. I decided to get back into it when one of my roommates got NBA 2k11. I tried out the Association mode but I'm not an NBA fan and prefer building a team through recruiting than through free agency, drafts, etc. So I downloaded a new roster file and started a new closed legacy at Liberty.

After getting blown out in my first two games, I buckled down and figured out some things strategically. I decided to go more uptempo, trying to score on the break, and to use a full court trap, a man-to-man primary defense, and switch to the 1-3-1, where I try to use the player in the high post to take away passing lanes and force turnovers. It's worked well. I blew out Weber State in the first game of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Classic before losing to #3 UCLA. Then, I had my home opener against East Carolina.

ECU ran a 2-3 zone on defense and I remembered my friend, who's a much bigger basketball fan than I am, always saying that the answer to a zone was to shoot the other team out of it. So I did. My small forward, who shoots the 3 well, went off, going 6-10 from behind the arc for 18 points en route to another blowout.

Then I had Kentucky at Rupp. I was able to hold them pretty well in the first half and went in down 3. I didn't force nearly as many turnovers as I wanted and thought it was over when they went on a big run to start the second half. But I turned it around with a couple of big turnovers and ended up winning by 2. Brandon Knight was their leading scorer with 16.5 ppg going in and I made it my priority to shut him down, and held him to 8.

What I love about this game is how important strategy is to being successful, on both offense and defense. As much as I've struggled to get into it so far, I'm loving it now.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

So in year 2 of my online legacy my Chattanooga Mocs once again show up to play in the conference tournament. This season I actually won the conference. In the first round I was a #15 seed playing Saint Louis. I thought I would have a chance since the guy I am playing with also beat them twice in the season pretty handily. Well, I won by almost 30 points. Went into the second round against LSU and they actually played like a good team. I was down 20 points at one point, but I started driving to draw fouls and got it back within 10 points. Then I hit a few 3s and it was a single digit game. But then my team got cold again and could not score and I lost by 5.

Was a pretty good season. Got a lot further than I thought I would I am only losing two players to graduation, so my team will be mostly the same next season, and better too. Definitely not leaving this school just yet. I want to sweep Davidson, win my conference by record and in the tournament, and I want to beat Tennessee at least once. I'll probably stay here a few more years until a good job opens up instead of a little stepping stone job.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Been playing on and off for about a year since my last big run in this game, but I've finally started to really get into it again. I'm in my 12th or 13th year, 2nd year at St. John's. Made some house rule adjustments after finishing a brutal OOC schedule with only one loss(my team is only an 80 overall), and I'm 8-5 in the Big East.

I'm loving how difficult Big East play is. I was in the Big South(Liberty) for 6 years and the CUSA(Tulsa) for another 3 or 4, so it is a big change to have a really tough conference, every game is tough even though the league is a little down in the legacy right now. It takes a fantastic effort to win on the road, even against the bottom half of the league.

One thing that bothers me is how much team rating is tied to the Top 25 polls. I'm only an 80 overall, but I'm still 18-6 with an RPI of 2 thanks to the stacked OOC schedule. Yet I'm still unranked. I should be top 10 with the wins I've had, but I can't even crack the top 25 because I'm rated so low. I'm guessing this was an attempt to keep low-majors out of the top 25, but anybody with an RPI of 2 should be ranked somewhere.

Looking forward to a fun Big East tournament and NCAA tournament. The conference tourny has always been boring for me as I rarely lost and I've never been quite good enough to make an NCAA run, hopefully this is my year.

I can't get over how good this game is, I usually play games for a few months and then sell them, but I'm talking about this game 3 years later.

I was posting in the Dynasty section but I'm just going to post annual updates here instead, posting after every game for me becomes to much of a chore.

Coach Mike Lewis enters his third season as the head man for Eastern Illinois with a career record of 28-28. Last season saw the Panthers win the OVC Championship during the regular season but we lost in the first round of the OVC Championship on a late three to Eastern Kentucky. The Panthers hosted Kansas in the first round of the NIT but lost by 15.

While most of the starting lineup and rotation returns in tact, the Panthers do lose 1st Team All-Conference point guard Mike Robinson. Leading the way will be leading scorer senior SG Romain Martin (18.2 ppg) and sophomore PF Dave Armstrong (10.1 ppg, 6.4 rpg). Armstrong was the 08-09 Conference Freshman of the Year and earned 2nd Team All-Conference honors. He was voted by the coaches for the upcoming season as the preseason Player of the Year in the OVC.

Looking to fill Armstrong's shoes is a pair of freshman lead by Sid Bey, who was Mr. Basketball in Delaware last season. He will be pushed for minutes by Reyshawn Collins, another 3-star recruit. Rounding out the starting lineup will be junior C Matt Dorlack (7.2/7.7) and sophomore SF Lionel Barro (5.0/3.9/2.0). Off the bench sophomore PG Tyler Laser (8.2) and senior C Ousmane Cisse (3.7/6.0) return, while freshman C DeAnthony Parkinson (3-star) and freshman SF Von Moody will get quality minutes.

The Panthers (76 ovr) expect to be pushed in the OVC by Murray State (75 ovr) and Tennessee State (74 ovr).

i believe im sittin at 15-1 maybe the wins is less but only one loss. Hada tough one against Harvard for a while, but pulled out the W. Im ranked 18th and there is no signs of slowing down. Ive had a few close calls, but nothing that relied on me hitting a buzzer beater for the win or anything like that. I feel like my toughest game i can lose will be at Harvard, as they are the best rated team, even though their record this year is poor compared to last year when they were ranked as high as 12 that i saw
