I remember that game. I was sweating it out a little as I had Villanova in my Final Four in the work pool, and that would have shot my bracket to hell if they had lost in the first round (as it is, I finished second, but didn't win anything since it was winner take all).

Anyway, for one thing, I played the game all last weekend. I don't do a whole lot on weekends (being a single guy has its advantages sometimes), so I have a lot of free time to play games.

For another thing, I sim most of my games during the season and only play the ones against good teams (higher rated than me, or within 3 rating points). It helps that I'm now better than any other team in my conference, so most of the regular season gets simmed.

I started out playing all my games, but I didn't like the fact that it was taking so long to progress through the seasons. I end up playing 3-4 games during the regular season and then all of the postseason, so the most I would actually play is 10-12 games a season (depending on how we do in the tournaments, of course).

Re: This game owns my soul.

Cotdamn I absolutely love this game and I am continually blown away by it. There is no question in my mind that this is the best sports videogame ever made. Every time I think I'll get sick of it or don't play it for a couple months and assume I'll permanantly put it on the shelf, I go back and play it and I'm instantly re-impressed and re-hooked.

I've been in such an NBA-heavy mode the last two months but last night I got back into my UConn legacy. I'm at the start of the Big Dance in year 3, I have a #1 seed against lowly Marist, was 10-23 but won their conference tournament to get into the tournament.

I start off the game pressing and go up 12-0 after a sick sequence in which I did a pick-n-roll with Kemba Walker and Ater Majok which lead to a one handed dunk by Majok, then Walker got a steal on the press and threw a beautiful alley oop to Majok plus the foul causing Marist to call a time out. It is amazing how much of a difference a great point guard makes in this game.

Anyway, my guys got a little cocky and Marist went on a run of their own and took a 17-16 lead. My D was really lacadisical (life after Thabeet has been rough in the paint, especially with a freshman center). The game was back and forth for the rest of the half and the start of the 2nd. It was knotted up at 50 before my D finally stepped up and I went on a 16-0 run en route to a 22 point win.

Can't wait to play my second round game against Creighton.

Yup this game will not die anytime soon, NBA2k need to take the route with less jacked up ratings becuz in that game you cant really tell the diff between Lebron and G. Wallace...Unlike NBA, ratings matter in this game and its awesome!!!!

NBA LIVE10 will be having new low ratings so that game is in my watch list for the first time since Melo was on the cover......

I agree, I rarely put this game down for more than a week anymore. I have put it down for a few months once or twice since I started my Wright State dynasty but I haven't done that since the beginning of season 2. I don't know what it is about this game but it never seems to get old.

My 3rd year has been pretty nice so far, the main reason is that I have 3 senior starters. My SG/SF both have full game experience bar and my SG is the coach on floor.

I'm 9-4, and I almost beat Texas last week but lost 74-70 but it was a close game until the final 5 seconds but my team couldn't get the rebounds on the missed free throws

I also played another top 25 team, Cincinnati, but got absolutely destroyed by them. Deonta Vaughn absolutely lit me up.

I've thought about leaving Wright State because I think my team is getting too good for the conference but I'm going to wait until after next year to decide. I have a feeling my success is mostly because of my seniors and next year I won't have nearly as good a team so I think I may return to the 20-10 record area. Conference teams haven't put much of a fight up against me so far.

I also did something I hadn't done before(including past games in this series), I signed all 4 recruits I offered a scholarship to before the recruiting period ended.

I play every game on 14 min halves and then when my boys go pro I play 8 min quarters.

I have avg scores around 65-75 points. I did however lose to Kansas at Kansas with Toledo 44-104 last season!

with 2k9 its more of an issue with sliders than ratings. You can give people sensible overall ratings and it will still give them high overall ratings. The ratings have issues but the high scale isnt real problem.

Re: This game owns my soul.

I finished out my third season with UConn, winning my second consecutive NCAA title. The Final Four was Oregon vs Vandy and me against.....drumroll....Dook!

Pretty similar to real life they were over matched athletically not to mention they had a freshman point guard who Kemba ate up. Singlar picked up two quick fouls and that was pretty much it. Henderson was still around but didn't do anything and I was up by nearly 20 at the break.

1-seed Oregon (more on them at the end of this post) advanced to the Finals and was the first team since the opening round to play primarily 2-3 zone against me. I knew that would be a struggle but my one advtange was having Majok at 6'11 shoot over the top of the zone. He hit 5-6 three's in the first half to lead the way.

They really slowed my offense down for a while, I was putting up 45-50 points per half even on 15 minute quarters against m2m (Kemba running the break with Dyson and Sticks was insane) but it was tied up at 22 with three minutes left in the half. I went on a heckuva a little run to end it though and was up 38-29 at the break.

I kept that margin for a majority of the second half before widening it late and winning by 17. Majok finished an amazing 8/10 from three, his previous career high from deep was 3. He finished with 31 points and 11 rebounds. He was no doubt the Final Four MOP and played himself right into the lottery too. His performance in the Finals was one of those video games I'll always remember. He was a back up as a frosh, averaged 10 ppg as a sophomore and showed glimpses but was my #4 option on offense. Finally he explodes and I see his inching closer to reaching his potential. Him and Kemba left as sophomores and Sticks and Dyson graduated.

A funny nuance and brillant example of how great this game is...

Majok went absolutely nuts in my Sweet 16 game against 4-seed UAB. Vaden was the 2nd leading scorer in the country (up near 28 ppg) and I figured I'd be in for a battle against them after struggling with Marist and Creighton in the first two rounds. I ended up blowing the pants off them as Majok had his coming out party. 12-19 from the field, 3-5 from deep, 37 points and 13 rebounds. Why? Because UAB had a 6'6 220 PF and a 6'7 C, horrible mismatches. Majok's fadeaway over the top of 6'6 defender was money and he abused him on the offensive glass as well. This from my #4 option on offense all season.

So I'm feeling good about myself and Majok, thinking he's going to beast his way to a title and an unforgettable tournament run (which did happen, just a bump in the road along the way). That I figured out his go-to move in the fadeaway, after a 6'11 man with touch is a rarity in the college game.

My Elite 8 match up was against rough-n-tumble Michigan State. They would have none of Majok's pansy finese play, lol. He finished 3-11 from the field and was in foul trouble for a majority of the game. He couldn't establish any post position against the big and strong MSU defenders and basically turned into all 6'11 spot-up jump shooter.

It was great to watch the difference in match ups and defensive abilities between UAB and Michigan State and how it affected Majok. Even Vern was commentating (repeatedly at that!) on how poor of a game he was having against MSU, lol.

Fortunately Majok bounced back against Dook and Oregon as they once again had no one to match up with him.

So now I'm on to Year 4, lost my top four scorers (which according to their draft buzz were all lottery picks) and brought in three five-star recruits - a PG, SG and SF. I played the first three games already, man it has been a struggle. You realize very quickly how spoiled you are when you have Kemba (93 ovr by the end of his sophomore season), Dyson (88 ovr at the end) and Sticks (84 ovr).

I trailed 67 overall Hartford at home by 12 points in the first half before rallying to win by 7. I beat 62 overall UNC-Ashville by four, without Kenny George! (damn Kenny left early for the NBA Draft, lol. I added them to the schedule in hopes of playing against him). Lastly I won at UMass 74-69 in an insanely close game through out. My sophomore SG bailed me out, he hit 6/9 three's in the first half and finished 8/13 on the game en route to 27 points - nearly doubling his career high. And for the kicker, next up is a NCAA Finals rematch from last year. I travel out to #2 Oregon, who returns 4 out of 5 starters and 8 of their top 9 in the rotation. It's gonna be a long day out west.

                          This game is simply amazing.

Nice championship. It's crazy to see how much of an effect MSU's defense had on your player. This is still in my regular rotations of games being played, I've been playing it since it came out and still am not tired of it.

                                Ehh,

Probably going to start a new legacy soon and I'm looking for some different sliders. Which ones are you using now? Thanks.
