You can't compare a basketball game to a baseball game. That's like saying, "Who's a better player, A-Rod or Kobe?"

Well, it's as if we were debating which is sports game of the Year.

I think that's kinda what he meant.

        A-Rod

When it's between different sport titles there is way too much of a bias to get opinions. I enjoy college basketball video games more, therefore I'm going to say CH is better. To someone who loves the Show, he'll say that game is better. It sounds like you can't go wrong with either.

the fact this question can even be asked is cool, though. too often we are complaining about what is wrong with a game.

these games CH, The Show and i will add winning eleven & ncaa football (from last gen) are the games that seem to most immerse their fans in the game. these games more than any others seem to stay in peoples console from release day to the next release day.

so which is better? the important things to ask are:

which makes YOU want to play most when you get home?

which one do YOU think about improving your roster or strategy when you are standing in line at the grocery store?

which one frustrates YOU most when you lose in the playoffs and not because you feel cheated?

i have been debating buying this from the standpoint of available time, but you guys are convincing me to go buy it right now.

Obviously they are two different sports, comparing apples to oranges, but let's compare fruit:

If it were announced today that the Show will be discontinued after this year, will people, like so many upon hearing the end of Hoops, say, "Actually, that's ok, now it gives me time to really get into the game." Though the disappointment was there, the game is so good that it will continued to be played, kind of like MVP 05. Is the Show this revered? That's all I was asking, because I hear so many great points about the Show, and wondering if the two games compared in that way.

              Good point by Radja

It's huge when the gameplay is to the point where you don't really worry about it anymore. I'm done with sliders and the like and the minor flaws of the game don't take away from my enjoyment.

I would love to see my experience with other titles be on par with this game.

Considering the fact that the Hoops rosters are FULLY customizable, including class, etc., I'm sure we'll see roster updates for years to come if the fanbase is still there.

If not by 2k..then by a collection of gamers like ourselves doing annual roster projects.

Enjoy. Best sports game on the market IMO.

I just finished my 3rd year at Auburn. After winning the conference my first 2 years, I finished 3rd this season. However, I ran the table and beat Vandy in the SEC Tourney Champ Game to get Tourney title this season.

I finished 21-9 and now I'm an 8 seed in the West Regional. My first matchup... 9th seeded Kansas. Ugh.

If I get past them..I face the #1 seed California Golden Bears. I'm in full March Madness mode. I'll be watching the real games and/or playing my tourney tonight.

if i understand right, i can just download a real roster from 2k share, right?

i wonder if we can get 2k to keep the 'import draft class' feature using CH 2K8 roster files for future nba 2k games?

That's correct. If you want the most updated one I would look for Tourney 1.3 or whatever the last file dkrause said he posted in the ratings thread.

I absolutely agree with you, AA. This game is just a blast to play. 2k is definitely going out with a bang if this is their last effort. I could see myself playing this game for 3 or 4 years into the future.

Re: This game owns my soul.

I'm Baylor and take my 4th ranked team on the road to play the 3rd ranked Washington Huskies. They are rated 94 Ovr. I'm rated 92. We're both 6-0 coming into the game.

I'm averaging 80 points on the season shooting 52% from 2 and 37% from 3 land. Good numbers, but with the exception of a game against #10 Arizona State, it has been done against overmatched opponents. I don't have a good feeling about the game.

The game starts and my worse fears are realized as I fall behind 7-0.

My Senior PG who has a Pro Buzz of Lottery, Shooting Rankings of 93 Close, 92 Med., 91 3pt, and 90 Off the Dribble, goes off. He had been struggling on the season, averaging only 8 points(sixth best on the team) and 4 assists vs. 2 Turnovers, shooting 43% from 2 and 34% from 3.

He scores the next 11 points, 11-7 Baylor, Game Over. He finishes with 30 points, 13 Assists(I had never had a player have more than 8 in 150 plus games played) zero turnovers, 8-12 from 3 land.

He wasn't even the leading scorer as my SF went for 31. I won 120-88(First game scoring more than 95 points ever.) I shot 67% from 2 and 67% from 3, going 18-27.

It wasn't all peaches and cream, as a 4* recruit who was as the game, and despite witnessing such magnificence, decided to go to Texas. Oh well, his loss.

Yeah, this game owns my soul too.

I'm under the impression that the gaming community (i.e. OS fanatics) will be modifying rosters to put on 2kShare to make a pseudo-2k9. Since you can edit everything, I don't see that being much of an issue. A huge undertaking? Yes....but there's an offseason to work on it.

One question: How are people going to make "correct" schedules? Are people even going to try or is it going to be waaaaaaaaaay too hard?

                                Just wondering.

Oh....and it owns my soul as well.
