I use my own MOP set. They were based off fistofrage's set, just have some tweaks made.

Do they play realistically? I heard the A.I. cheats a lot on MOP difficulty.Comment

Re: This game owns my soul.
i haven't noticed much of a cheating A.I. on MOP, i also play with my own sliders... but to me it seems like as long as i keep playing the right way i will always have a chance even against better teams, but as soon as u start taking bad shots, or making bad turnovers, a better team is going to start rolling you and it usually snowballs (at least for me cause i get frustrated and chuck up 3's)Comment

Re: This game owns my soul.
I had my typical "let's pop in 2K8 after a few months off to see how much it impresses," night. Just as amazing as ever. Here are some clips from an exhibition between me using '04 UConn at '08 Indiana. Eric Gordon vs Ben Gordon. The quality sucks, sorry for that.
Love the clip of Josh Boone knocking over the camera man and then acting like a tool.Fan of....

Re: This game owns my soul.
this thread is too funny. I too had an itch to play some bball games.
Got out the old xbox. popped in CH2k5.. ID2004. then onto 360 with CH2k7, nba 2k7, and finally the game that set me in my place, CH2k8.
Played a game against 07-08 Kentucky. Jodie Meeks was scoring at will on the perimeter. just great stuff all around.. this game still amazes meComment

2K still hasn't matched the AI in any of the NBA2K games since. The crispness and intensity that the AI plays with in this game is amazing. They read and react to the D in a frighteningly good way, it feels like you're playing a human."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: This game owns my soul.
Saw this got bumped and had to say that it's owning my soul once again right now, just finished my non-conference slate of games in season 3 with Texas State. Hoping to finish this season before the real college football season begins, b/c I know my gaming time will dwindle down to basically nothing.Currently playing:

Re: This game owns my soul.
Yea I played a couple games last night. I NEVER got into this game. I only have played maybe 4 games total of it. I just got the game last year, but never started a legacy yet.
All I know is it stomps NBA 2k10. The control is top notch. I keep reading about these 2k weekly wrap up and sunday shows. I have yet to see it yet. I need to start me a legacy soon!!!Comment

Re: This game owns my soul.
Man, I got pummeled by a couple of scrub teams last night. First Northwestern St. caught fire from behind the arc, and I lost 75-60, then I couldn't buy a defensive rebound against Central Arkansas and lost to those puds 72-62 (they had waaaaay too many second chance points). My controller almost suffered a premature death. That being said, I'm itching to get back to it tonight after the wife and child are asleep! Yep, it owns me.Currently playing:

Re: This game owns my soul.
About to fire up my first ever Leagacy. Very excited to say the least. I really look forward to this as I have been practicing just getting the feel for the controls first, and playing play now games.
I guess my question is do you vets reccomend starting at a small school first or taking on a better established team (for me I would take over the Hurricanes in the ACC).Comment

Re: This game owns my soul.
I'm about ready to be owned once again. I traded in NBA 2K10 yesterday, so CH2K8 is my only source of hoops gaming. I'm going to re-download some of the old roster files and fire up a new Legacy.Currently Playing:

Re: This game owns my soul.
Honestly, I've never played a more complete sports title. Ever.
I'm in year 3 of my Auburn dynasty, one game left in the regular season. I'm 17-9, 10-5 in the SEC. I was on a 10 game win streak, then hit a cold stretch and dropped 3 consecutive conference games. I gathered myself, and have reeled off 2 straight road wins at Arkansas and at Georgia.
I was 23-11 in my first year and won the SEC. I had a Cinderella run through the NCAA tourney and managed to make it to the Final Four before getting drilled by Kansas.
Normally, I would feel "Ah, I've got the hang of this one" and think I was going to go 32-1 in Year 2 and win the NC. But no....I do have a great season with lots of returning talent and go 29-7, but I get bounced in the second round of the NCAA tourney by Syracuse. I was as heartbroken, literally, as any time I've played a sports game. I got my #1 seed. I had a great mix of young talent and senior leadership. It was "my year". But it wasn't to be.
Year 3 has been a rollercoaster. Lots of underclassmen on my squad now, mostly frosh and sophs. I've had my ups. I've had my downs. But the game stays fresh.
I've had blowout wins, blowout losses, last second victory and a heart breaking defeat at the buzzer (to Mississippi State). I never feel like I've got the game in the bag before it starts...every game could be a war, or a 20 point blowout one way or the other.
I'm not landing the #1 recruiting class every year. I'm not even in the top 20 every year. But I get my share of studs and my prestige is improving as I see more "elite" players taking a look at Auburn as a legit Bball power with my recent success.
Name another sports title where you get to see Dave Odom retire at USC and be replaced by a REAL coach from another school. Name another sports title where after Wake Forest fires their head coach, SIX Demon Deacons transfer. That is adding another dimension of immersion to the whole experience for the gamer.
Nothing feels "cheap" in this game. I've tweaked sliders here and there..but again...I've only really had to move things a few clicks here or there...no major flaw holding the game back.
I get so into the game as I sit back and watch the weekly wrap up shows with highlights, bubble team info, etc.
Selection Sunday is still probably the single coolest video game sports addition I've ever seen as far as atmosphere goes ( ARE YOU LISTENING EA DEVELOPERS? ).
I simply cannot express how great it is for a company to CONTINUE to get a franchise "right". College Hoops has been and continues to be THE epitome of sports gaming goodness for me.
I will not be buying March Madness next year. I wil simply be waiting for what I know will be coming...fellow Hoops supporters who will update the rosters and continue to enjoy what I think is the best sports gaming title to date.
