I remember where I got the file from it was on the 2kshare. before they turned off the 2k8 servers around 2011 or 2012.

This game owns my soul, and I have only had it for a few months. What I love most about it is that it naturally just WORKS. I don't have to play with stuff day in and day out to make it 1. realistic, 2. authentic, or 3. fun. The recruiting system is beyond deep, the level of authenticity with each team/university is wonderful, and scores range from blowouts, big and small, to close games decided by a basket or free throw.

I've got a Coaching Legacy thread over in the Basketball Dynasty Forums for those interested. Playing with Dartmouth, 6-4 on the season, really enjoying it.

there's spacing, there's alot of movement. alot of kick outs etc,

id say do a search on here or on google and download the playbooks. youll see a major improvement.
I used Koshhi's for years, they do help a bit but it's still an issue. Defenses rotate way too fast IMO.

My other problem is that custom playbooks often get screwed up for me. I load them pre-game, start the game and then my playbook is empty.

I need to install this on my 360 and give it some run this evening. Wet my whistle with a lil player lock action.

Re: This game owns my soul.

I bought this game when I got my first xbox 380 in the winter of 2008 when it was brand new. Had my system and games stolen, so of course had to get another copy once I replaced my 360. In the meantime had a PS2 version to keep me busy. I eventually sold the replacement 360 and got a ps3 in January 2010 for MLB the Show, so naturally, had to get this game. I have since traded in and repurchased the game probably 5 times. I last traded it in when I got rid of my PS3 to get a PS4. Had a buddy give me his old ps3 a couple months back and just purchased this a few weeks back and have been playing it religiously.

What other game would keep you playing 10 YEARS after its' release?

I've been reading through this thread and it's amazing what tips and tricks you can pick up on from others.

The only thing that really bugs me about this game is like someone else already mentioned (probably 4-5 years ago now) how long it takes the opposing subs to get to the lane on free throws. Ugh.

I have roster files for almost every season, but always just keep going back to the 07-08 roster. I have a legacy that I am posting in the dynasty section with Oakland (local mid-major) and a couple others I'm running through here and there. I have such a hard time sticking with just one, as another team will catch my eye and I'll wonder what it's like playing with them. I was simming through the other day and Texas Tech won the championship led by 89 ovr Mike Singletary Jr. So I fired up the original roster, with Bob Knight as coach, Singletary as a 68 ovr true freshman, and 87 overall Martin Zeno. Simmed the first season while focusing on recruiting and pulled in the #7 class in the country with a HS AA point guard. My two deep PG and SG's all can shoot over 85 from three. Yeah, I might be playing this one for a bit.

I'm playing this game more than any other video game during the quarantine. Having a blast with each and every game.

The biggest thing that stands out for me is the control of your players, in stark contrast to recent NBA2K games. It goes to show how a focus on online gaming and combating user vs user cheese has been detrimental to 2K basketball.

While CH2K8 is too loose with its physics and maybe too tight with its controls, I'll take it every day over the sluggish mess of NBA2K in the last few years. My players are responsive and I feel like I'm in full control over their actions, outside of a few annoying animations you get sucked into. I'd rather have that and an 7'1 stiff who's a little too mobile than what you get in NBA2K where players move like they're wearing sneakers three sizes too big for them.

I can barely play NBA 2K these days. Really sad what's happened to the series from an offline gamer standpoint. I started playing 2K11 and 2K12 again and man, those games are such a blast. I may have to get back to CH as well.

I am having basketball withdrawals and my puppy chewed my copy of NCAA 09 on PS3 and it's nearly impossible to find a copy for a reasonable price anywhere. I am going to keep searching for NCAA and CH 2k in the hopes of finding something. Great time to start binge playing.

This game is selling for $100-$110 on eBay right now. I still don't have the heart to sell my copy.

I'm not sure how I came across this but an article on RPCS3 popped up on my feed so I read it and realised it was a PS3 emulator. Being in Australia, we never got a local CH release so way back in the day, I imported 2K8 for the PS3 and have been playing that ever since. Would have preferred a 360 copy as that was my main machine but being region locked really stuffed that idea up.

PS3 play is fine. It plays solid but doesn't look that great so just for fun, thought I'd check it out on this emulator so I ripped my disc and loaded it up and wow. It's such a nice improvement compared to how it looks and plays on PS3 and I'm stoked I came across this.

Playing it at 400% resolution and getting 60+ FPS means I'm going to be putting a lot more time into this now.

I had been wanting to use the emulator for awhile, finally built a PC and figured out how to run choops. Really a game changer, bought a TON of life into the game for me.

Is there any advanced editing you can do to a game when you're running an emulator?

One of my biggest (yet smallest) pet peeves with this game is that 2K botched the undershirt color for alternate uniforms. I hate always using an alternate white uniform and having a blue/red/green/whatever colored undershirt. I really wish 2K patched that issue back in the day.
