Re: Recruiting Priorities
Something I was wondering is if anyone has a particular thread they can point me to that tells exactly what all the priorities mean...
I couldn't find a game manual in game or otherwise for the life of me...
Obviously "Shooting" means they look specificially for the best shooters, but I'd like a laid out listing so that I can attach them to each school based on what Ive researched and also what I have found to place with the tempo and o/d sliders that I am building through my research at kenpom.com
So, can anyone do a quick synopsis or help direct me to somewhere that has one.--If you need it, you don't have it. If you have it you don't need it. But if you need and you don't have it, you want it. If you don't have any of it, then you really don't know how to get more of it to get started then anyways now do you? --Comment

Re: Recruiting Priorities
If you recruit a player and view tape on him, you'll probably find out. But I'll try to remember.
Shooting - Self explanatory: close, med, 3pt, ft and I believe shoot of dribble and possibly shot in traffic.
Skills- I believe, but not really sure, is just passing and ball handling.
Defense- blocking, steals, on ball defense, low post def, etc.
Athleticism- vert, layup, dunk, speed, possibly quickness, etc.
Intelligence- Mainly awareness.
Rebounding- Self explanatory
Potential- Self explanatory, and as juke said most likely pointless.
I thought there was a thread that explained this better, actually thought it was this one lol. I'll search and see if there is a better explanation of these.
edit: I was searching and you can use these as a guideline I guess, these were based off the 2012 season: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...C4k/edit#gid=0Last edited by Brock; 03-18-2015, 03:28 PM.Comment

Re: Recruiting Priorities
Past that, the recruiting tendencies won't be noticeable over the first year or maybe even two, but couple that with the realignment of the conferences and their members, you would definitely notice a huge difference in a fairly short amount of time....especially when in many cases, I changed both recruiting tendencies and all of the sliders within the coach profile.--If you need it, you don't have it. Re: Recruiting Priorities
With the different tempo and coach sliders, those will make a noticeable difference right away as well as the changing of the individual player tendencies.

Re: Recruiting Priorities
While on the subject, what inspired your conference realignment? I noticed that you didn't try to keep the same teams that where in the original conferences in the new ones (i.e. You have Duke and UNC in the big 12, but I didn't see any other previous ACC teams in the big 12.) but then again I only skimmed through it. Also how well does it play out?
So I used a variation of differing things, but all that made for some great groupings.
Hope that makes sense and also makes things enjoyable for many of us still out there playing the game...
By changing conferences, it also presents a different recruiting dynamic as well as to the schools say a Duke or UNC needs to compete with for players.
I also gotta say that I particularly liked and enjoy my new ACC model...I think I did fairly well for the schools presented and within the east coast model.--If you need it, you don't have it. Re: Recruiting Priorities
The only really issue presented came down to what to do near the end and that was with the WAC, to which I decided, Western Athletic could just simply mean Western Hemisphere, incorporating just like say a Conf USA would, thus allowing me to run the basis of using schools from anywhere, thus the weird pairing of schools there...
That really was my only real concern conference and schools that I was not sure on what to do with--If you need it, you don't have it. If you have it you don't need it. Re: Recruiting Priorities
Sure...I was inspired somewhat by geographic makeup, somewhat by historical perspective (if you notice the Sun Belt is made up of schools from Sun Belt states, Colonial is made up of first colony states of the US), and then in situations like the Big 12, I chose some of the most winningest and greatest programs in D1.

Re: Recruiting Priorities
I'll see if I can get all of the priorities and sliders setup for the schools in that spreadsheet, so if you want to hold off for a day or two to get that in there, it'll add the best possible experience to couple with the realignment.--If you need it, you don't have it.
