Yes, the actual coaches are there and you just have to name them.

i have never downloaded rosters before. i have read that these created rosters are awesome. do the rosters actually change the game, like to the point where i may think that im playing a brand new game?? creating rosters seems to be a very popular thing, what will i notice differently about 2k8 with these new rosters, because i have not played this game since the year it came out

maan big ups and good luck with this project it good looking out..but are u saying the freshman max rating is 79..what if they are considered top 5 picks in the 11 draft?..plus some fresheman will be impact freshman..but once again good job

IN 2k8, If you are rated over 80, you may be drafted. A 3star* recuit gets rated between 67-72 in the game, 4star* 70-73 and 5star* 70-78.
SO my logic is for a power school, that the starters should be rated around the 75 area. Mid majors arounf 72 area and small around 68.

The worst that can happen is after the 1st season, all 5 starters are sitting bench b/c the CPU recuited a fab five. Now true when you play against Memphis this year (3 5* and 1 4* ) they got a basic fab five. They're the Kentucky you saw last year. In year 3 in your legacy if they're still around, you're a dead man. Don't even put them on your schedule and if u really want them to go pro, then when u download my rosters, up their potential the last stat editable for each player.

Some more game engine knowledge.

Potential (amount overall rating will increase through the years in legacy)
65-70 0 -1 pts per season
71-75 1-2 pts per season
80 2-4pts

90-100
3-5 pts

You want a dude to enter the draft after one season, put his potential at 99. I'm waiting for the preseason all americans, those players will have the highest ratings in the game.



COACHES

They are a little tricky. I'm hestiant to put a coaches name in if the last name isn't recognizable by the game engine. One mistake and your rosters won't be sharable. Not worth the risk.


The names mean everything. What i do a month after the season, I create a red-shirt roster, where all the star players I turn into fresh or soph wen I'm trying to start a legacy with a mid-major (season 3.) I don't like coaching a small school then moving to mismajor. I'd rather start there, and stay there for 3 seasons, then try to get hired by a power. Open and Legacy are not the same to me.

It's better to rate players based on production, not potential. No need to make a player better than he really is.

nah i was sayin this because all last year i seen alot of generated freshmen come in at 80's..i was jus sayin that it we make like a kyrie irving a 75-79 im jus worried that the next year duke will get a game generated player that will start over him.thats all im worried about

WEll i use scout.com, which ranks the recuits. There are only like 20-25 5* recuits, which will enter the game witha rating of 75 - 79.Last year they were right on the money basically. Last year the #1 overall player was Favors and #2 was JWall.The 4* recuits come in from 72-75. I have watch video on some players , so i got a pretty good idea of what's out there.The only players that I would consider making 80 or above are seniors from elite teams, like MICH st. and Duke, etc.If the computer recuits a player over him then you do one of 2 things.[a] change that CPU computer player to Kyle Irvin or [b] change the CPU players position and he'll lose on his overall rating, then he won't even start. You change a 80 PF to a PG and he'll drop to 72 or under.

UPDATE 10/14I don't get to do much work on THURS.But i got 92/89 teams left (overall / small schools).I did 5 Big West teams this morning b4 i went to work.The only conf I have left are AEC , A-SUN, Big Sky , MEAC , NEC , SOUTHLAND, SWAC, SUMMITTThese school websites have been great giving jersey #'s and everything. So the procedure is as i update each small school, to make sure[a] no one 6"3 or under dunks unless I saw it live[b] make sure the dunk standing isn't too high for small schools[c] make sure the legacy elligible teams are rated below 70In Legacy, only teams listed below 70 can be used. There are like 40 teams available, like the worst 40. So if you turned every teams rating to 70 except 1 team, then in Legacy you'd only have 1 choice which would be that one team you left below 70. So what i want to make surte is that each team in the SWAC or MEAC isn't below 70 b/c the Legacy teams would suck. Some people may want to play in the Patriot, SOuthern, etc. So to rectify that, I will likely make a senior from those schools have a rating of 70, but that players tendecy will be so low, that they do nothing offensively. That was as soon as he graduates, the teams rating will return to normall (like 65)If u guys let me know what small conf you like playing in, it would be easier for me to set this up. I don't want any more than 5 SWAC, OVC , meac , nec AND a-sun below 70 and eligible for Legacy. I'd like to spread it out.Then I'll configure the power conf again and then the rosters will be released. Right now at this rate, 1st week of NOV looks pretty good

SETBACK !!!

I must be honest. I turned on my xbox at 4am this morning and the 1st person i tried to edit it said "roster has inappropriate language and cant be shared with any1 else" . So with 91 teams to go. I must find what player the game doesn't like. It is not a player i just edited. So I may have to go through 250 teams *12 = that many players b4 i can continue editing. I hope to find the problem sometime this weekend. I will update u as soon as it's found.

If you look at the original rosters though lots of freshmen were close to 80 or over. And darren collison and sean singaltary were both rated 91's which was just ridiculous. I would say that good seniors from Mich St or Duke be 85's or 90's...

FOUND IT.

After 6 hours of playing around with this and talking to a 2k tech. Can you believe the name "Cody" is banned, like Cody Ross ffrom SF Giants. Someone tell me what swear sexual, or ethnical insult that word represents. And it was on a team that was edited 3 teams ago!! I'llbe resuming now.

Don't get excited about Midnight madness last night. College teams don't play until NoV 10-15th area. I'll be done with the rosters by then
