Re: recruiting help?
Speaking of glitches though, if you find yourself with a sunday game (or whatever game is at the far right of the calendar view), you'll notice you cannot do scouting or home visits. However, you CAN do campus visits. If you find yourself with such a schedule, try to plan to save your campus visits for those weeks where the game does not allow you to do home or scout trips.Comment

Re: recruiting help?
It's not a glitch though -- it has been like that in every CH game to date. But yes, I misstated to a certain extent. As long as the coaches each have enough time for one tour, you can pack in as many tours that week as your recruiting points will allow. Try and lump them together as best you can. Think of it in the real world sense of the coaches using time efficiently.

Re: recruiting help?
I'm not understanding one thing. You're saying as long as the coaches have enough time for one tour, it works. But, since a campus visit takes 35 time, you can still use it when nobody has 35 time to give. I've had times where my coaches' combined time remaining was about 5 and given out two tours. I doubt that was intentional. It might be something overlooked, but it's definitely not supposed to work that way. I totally understand that you could do multiple tours where only the first one took time away, but the fact that you can give tours while NO coaches have even a tenth of the available time required is no way intentionally in the game.Comment

Re: recruiting help?
Yep. I've never had a time where it didn't work. I've had times when I was confused because it disappeared, but I realized I ended up calling 1 too many people and didn't have the available points. I'm trying to think if there's some other part of it, but I do know for a fact I've brought a guy in when nobody had the time plenty of times.North Carolina Tar Heels

Re: recruiting help?
The biggest tip that I use that isn't listed is to look at 4 stars after signing week in season. You'll see some without offers. Go after a couple of them. Some will get scooped up by power schools, while others will fall through right into your lap. I have a career legacy as Texas Southern and got 2 of them my second season. On my 5th year, they're both 85 overall seniors.
My other Legacy with a friend, I've moved on to Ohio from VMI (signed about 5 4 stars at VMI in 3 seasons using the same technique.) Even at Ohio, I do this. I can sign a few on my own, but most are in state. Think I signed one 4 star PG (who came in at 70 overall, unfortunately. But my backup was a 59 the previous year, so I have no complaints) in season, then grabbed a 4 star SG who came in at 78 overall. Nobody recruited him, so I took a flier on him. Big sign and adds major depth that I needed.Last edited by Pitfighter87; 06-21-2011, 12:44 AM.Comment

Re: recruiting help?
I'm having an awful time recruiting. Just to mess around I started an open-legacy as UNC and then created three recruits from the state of North Carolina and made them HS juniors. I worked hard on all three who started off with interest somewhere between 60%-70% as juniors. I gave them obligatory phone call and e-mail each week. I started either #1 or #2 on all three players' list with Duke in the other slot. I kept plugging away only to notice I slowly started to slip as far as 8th on one player's list, and 5th on the other two.
That's the first frustrating thing. I still remained persistent into the offseason and by the beginning of the next season I was back-up into each player's top three. As I inched closer and closer to the early in-season signing period, though, I slipped further and further behind other schools despite maxing out on in-home visits and campus visits for all three. Let me remind you this was an open legacy so my coach's charisma was an A+. On the first day of the early signing period I lost all three recruits to Duke. From week one of the previous season when they were high school juniors I went from being #1 or #2 on all three players' list in a virtual tie with Duke only to slowly slip further and further behind. By the early signing period in the second season when they were high school seniors I was top 3 on all of their lists but too far behind Duke for it to really matter.
To make sure this wasn't a one time thing I immediately did the same thing with Kansas. I created three recruits from Kansas, recruited them relentlessly for 1.5 seasons, started top 1 or 2 on every list, only to fall further and further behind to the eventual point of not being in contention for any of the players.
So, what am I doing wrong? In that time (both Kansas and UNC legacies combined) I lost out on another 3-5 four or five star recruits where I began the season in their top-3 with high interest only to lose out in the end to another school. It's EXTREMELY frustrating and I just want to know if I'm doing something wrong or if recruiting is just that hard. I don't want to have to continually fill my open roster spots with last minute JUCO signees when I work my way up to a big-time program in my closed legacy.Comment

You didn't do anything worng Its a crapshoot. But there are some factor's to:
Playing time.(Base off of the people already on the team.I.E. If you have 5JR & 5SO and there weaker they'll go to the school where they get playing time.If you have a SR heavy time they'll go to your school.)
There other things to.But like I said its a Crap shoot.(Somebody else will say other things to.)Comment
