I find i have more success when I reslease the button before the peak. Right when the ball gets to the players head gives me the cleanest free throws. It always feels like I'm letting go to early but it yields the best results.

Originally posted by WallyHoppIIIThe main key is to rememeber its nothing like shooting a jumper, in the sense that you cannot control when the initial "jump"/ bend of knee's occurs. Just rememeber that and you should be good. let go at the peak of the release and remember that you cant control when that takes place. It's simply HOLD and just let Go at the peak.

Re: What is the secret to free throws?
It also depends on the players ft rating. IMO this ft system is great. Also every player doesn't shoot them the same. Some have a little delay in their motion etc...
I like the system. The old way people complained it was too hard. Now they say it's too easy....
To me its just right. It takes the rating and release into account.Joshua:

Re: What is the secret to free throws?
The free throws boil down to a mix of factors. The players free throw rating, the players routine, and your timing at the line. Try practicing with different players of different free throw ratings and routines and you will notice the difference, last but not least. start by releasing your shot before the peak as this will increase your chances. Also the situation changes somewhat during game time so practice my Brother it will determine weither you win or loseWhere they DO that? ? ?Comment

Anybody else notice that each player doesn't stick with the same routine all the time....that's what throws me off sometimes. The same player will use a different routine at different times.Comment

Re: What is the secret to free throws?
Originally posted by RGmoneyYes, notice that very early in playing this game. Keeps you from getting in a groove with a certain player. For example, late in the game and you know the CPU has to foul you...You just can't get it to that one player that has the animation that you like or is the easiest to time. Frustrating a times but I like it though...:wink:not really, I think it pretty cool having to sweat for free throws while the game is on the line is this not true CHoops my brothers
Once again the sercet is to practice and " Pay Attention " as stated in your manual
