I just got the game - questions

I'm a long time player of NCAA football but wanted to try the best NCAA basketball game available and apparently there will be no more college games so I bought 2k8 hoops.

Best sliders for highest difficulty?

Self imposed recruiting restrictions?

Recruiting tips?

Gameplay tips?

Anything else you want to add I would appreciate.

All American with these sliders is harder than MOP. Also I use custom playbooks (in another post on here there is a list of good plays for the cpu and it breaks it down per position) and I load them for each computer team based on their players strengths. If the sliders below are not hard enough, which it should be, lower your inside and layup sliders to 45 and up the cpu offensive awareness to 25. I've played 3 seasons with Colorado State with these settings and its as good and realistic as Ive seen and Ive tried many sliders. 16 minute half on simulation.

Recruiting house rules: No world players, no 4 stars players that are available with no schools competing for them the last 5 weeks of regular season.

Gameplay house rules: No cheesy steals on inbound passes. No triple teaming ball handler when pressing the cpu.

I designed a few custom plays that I really like and I'd recommend that, game sometimes freeze though when you use a custom playbook with your created plays.

Thanks - I'll give those a try although I intend to play every game and not sim and I will use 20 minute halves.

I intended to create some custom plays but if they make the game freeze I might avoid it.

20 minute halves might give you higher than normal scores, I'd stick to 16, but 20 might be worth a try.

A work around I found when the created custom playbook freezes: load your playbook before you go into the legacy, then go to playbooks and just move a play out and then back into your chosen 8 game plays, (something about doing that makes it not freeze) then go to quick start game, don't start a game but load legacy from there. Every time Ive done this the created plays playbook within the legacy has worked as it should. Also, when you play your legacy game, at the team select screen push triangle and load custom playbook 1 (for your team) or however you set it up.
