    Re: March Madness 06 Impressions

STJOES, I have seen a few injuries and they are well done like last year, when I believe the injury animations were overhauled. Vitale's and Nessler's commentary around injuries is quite good too.

Question for everyone. Is it just me, or did EA tweak/improve the dive for loose ball animation so that its implementation is a little bit better for MM06? It seems a subtle change, but improved. The AI players don't "overuse" this option anymore, and the slide seems to have been shortened somewhat. It seems useful now, whereas in the past not ...

Try it some and report back here to see if I'm right (no one else has checked on this, or at least reported on it. I may be wrong). If it is, that will explain why not too many of these will occur.
I always break the count by going for a steal (and get burned), but everytime I get burned my guy ends up out of position so it makes sense to break the count then. I just found that it was surprisingly hard to get a 5-second call. I've had a few called against me when I was trying to use the floor general stuff. Which I can live with.

although 5-second calls usually only happen once a game in real life. (if that).

I should mention (off topic), that I ran the Fist play, passed down to the corner and my guy cut to hoop off a backscreen for a nice lob. It was tight.

Agreed. The dive anims look a little different. It is under control compared to 05.

Not only that did tweak the dive animation for the loose ball, they also did a good job on Dribbling the basketball!!!! The manual dribble is nice and responsive!!!! I might be wrong here but it looks like the Ai does what I call split the Double team Dribble Animations Automatically!!!!!

I don't think U need to use the Right Stick to pull of this move!! Just move the Left Stick towards the Trap defense and Wala your guy Spilt the D. with sweet dribbling animations!!!! But I could be wrong!!!!

I did it with Dee brown. I was playing Vs a halfcourt trap and they drove me to the corner, but Dee just split the double. It was tight. I didn't have to use anything but the Left Stick

Seems like the ratings for most player like that are dead on.

Also, Rajon rondo can get to the hole. Can't stop that guy. Bubba Sparx can shoot it too.

                  Rawdawg,

I can honestly say that this game kills last years and I prefer MM over Live because it's college and it just flat out plays better. 05 was nice with the playcalling but it wasn't as good as this years version.

They stepped it up this year. The lockdown stick actually makes defense fun. What other game does that?

Some of the stuff that goes on after whistle (and 1's) blocks out of bounds... Is nice.

                  Definetly a keeper.

I also generally like the look of the players in the game this year too. And, some of the arenas are just phenomenal. I love Cameron, Dean Dome, Gallager Iba, Rupp, Alumni (UConn), and others. I still want to play a game at Oregon's Pit and a few other places (Michigan State, etc.).

Has anybody else gotten into tournament mode and checked on the arenas some more? Did they have actual arenas after the first two rounds last year? I can't remember.

STJOES, I was playing against Kentucky last night in Rupp and got a good taste of the senior leader aspect. Sparks is designated as UK's Senior Leader and he got on fire against me --- the other Cats fed off of it. There was one time when UK was on a break and Rondo had Sparks on the right and Crawford on the left. He went with Crawford and Sparks' headed toward the goal pumping his fist in the air (back and forth) firing everybody up. In fact, it looked just like one of the trailers EA put out weeks ago. It was sweet.

Man, with all these good impressions from sparker, sirjam, rawdawg, etc.. I might just have to get this game. You guys are hyping me up for it. I was holding off of any college b-ball until I got my 360. Might have to make a trip down to my local game store and get this to hold me over...

the game seems great but what's killing it for me is the fact that the cpu players don't have names under them. you don't know who the hell is who.
