I fixed this problem for PS3. I also made Wake Forest more realistic (Teague with 50 offensive ability?? yeah right). Roster is in my locker. PSN: Photonslayer.

I have a PS3 Jason2112, so I will have to edit my rosters, which I will probably do over the next 2 weeks while on Christmas break.

Is there a consensus among the OS board as far as ratings go?

For example: If you had a player who shoots 40% from 3pt range last year, where would you expect his rating to be? 80-83, 85-88?

If you had a big man who shot 58% from the floor, where would you put his FG rating? What about his dunk and inside scoring rating?

Is there a default number for some categories? If you have a 5'10 scrub PG on the bench, who never plays, would you keep his default block rating, or would you lower it?

Are there any categories that need to be changed on every player? If a player has a dunk rating of 90, will he dunk the ball everytime he gets into the paint? Will a player with a block rating of 90 have 8 blocks a game?

I remember playing NBA Live on the PS2, and the ratings were always a nightmare because they were always too high.

I take it its not that big a problem anymore, but I am like you, and like to have realistic rosters and results. Thanks.

Thanks man, I will download it when I get home and try it out. What adjustments did you make?

I was reading other threads about the crazy sim results people were getting, and about all the upsets, especially in the NCAA Tournament. I simmed a year in my dynasty, and North Carolina lost in the 2nd round to some scrub team. I think it was Washington St. and Valparaiso in the National Championship game. Ridiculous.

I lowered the ratings of the overrated freshmen centers and PFs for the mid-major conferences.

Yes, I went by yahoo stats current 3 pt percentages for the players so if they were shooting 50 percent from 3pt range, they got 90 3pt shooting rating and if they were shooting 44% I gave them an 84 and so on. The only exception I made was Stephen Curry because as we all know, he is a freak and I gave him a 98 3pt level and I wouldn't think anyone would argue that point. Kyle McAlarney for Notre Dame was second highest if I remember correctly

Thanks for the input. I will be working on editing my rosters in the next 2 weeks, and I want to get them as realistic as possible to help the sim engine.

I will use last year's stats to edit most players, and probably this year's for the freshman.

How are the stats in your franchise? Anything out of wack, like players shooting over 50% from 3 pt land?

Is there a ceiling for your ratings? I see you gave Curry a 98 3pt rating. This doesn't cause him to hit every 3 he takes, does it?

I will have to fool around with the rest of the ratings and see exactly it affects the players and teams. I don't want to see a crappy team in the final four the first year or 2 of my franchise, unless it's me. LOL!

No Curry went like 8-13 from 3pt range in the game I played against them, but I will tell you that I had to go back and raise the ratings of higher level teams like UNC, Pitt, UConn, etc. because they were losing like 10 games in the season which is TOTALLY unrealistic. After I adjusted these, UNC actually won the title on a test sim season, but they still lost 6 games. Pitt did alot better too. Before my edits, Pitt was losing like 12 games! Crazy stuff. Dude, Pitt is one of the most physical teams ever and UNC is gonna have a run at an undefeated season this year so after my edits, things played out a lot better on my test sims. The final four was UNC, Gonzaga, UCLA, and Oklahoma which is acceptable to me. Before my edits, I was getting complete bogus final fours and sixteen seeds going to the elite 8. Anyone that knows anything about college basketball will tell you a 16 seed probably will NEVER beat a one seed in our lifetime and it's never been done, but somehow the sim engine thinks a 16 seed is capable of going deep in the tourney. LOL.

Well I am officially DONE with my roster edits. I have gotten some great results in my test seasons that I simmed so I will not be releasing anymore updates for awhile and maybe ever for this game. I really feel like these edits on the ratings are about as close to perfect as you can get without being a complete psycho and going into seclusion to edit all 300 plus teams. Feel free to send me a friend request RAGZY2112 on XBOX live and spread this roster around to all. Filename is FINAL09. PLEASE DELETE ME AS A FRIEND TO SAVE ME THE TIME OF DOING IT MYSELF. Believe me, it's a pain in the booty to go thru all these requests and then have to delete you from my friends list.
