Yes. Even if he wasnt, it adds more depth, which is the most important thing.

Lack of bench production. All 5 starters will wear out eventually because they have to continually put point for 40-48 mins. Whenever Steve Nash comes out of the game, Spurs start taking over (as seen in the 4th quarter).

Joe Johnson is easily our second best shooter. The spurs will have to put a body on him or he will make shots and that frees up everyone else. Plus than Jimmy Jackson can come off the bench and match up against Barry instead of playng 44 minutes a game like he is now. Its not like we are getting blown out and we could use all the help we can get especially when each starter has played 40+ minutes in like 6 straight games. Plus Joe Johnson can play backup point guard because Barbosa hasn't done anything.

Injuries came back to hurt the Suns...trust me a healthy Marion PLus Joe Johnson wit Nash and Amare playin @ the level they are would get @ the spurs...

Duncan isn't exactly at full health either, plus they are missing their offensive spark in Devin Brown.

Duncan is FINE. His ankle doesnt hurt him at all. The guy is moving around just fine out there.

Joe Johnson is 10x the importance that Devin Brown is.

LOL,since when did joe Johnson become god?I hear Suns fans talking aobut him like he'd be socring 30 pts or something.Fact of the matter is that even if he was playing, the Spurs would still be up 2-0...

That'd be opinion, not fact.

He may not score 30, but he did average 17 and was their most efficient long-range shooter. I don't think there's much of an argument that his absense has hurt an already thin Suns team, and it's not like either of those games were complete blowouts. I'm not saying they'd be up 2-0, or even that the series would be 1-1, but it certainly isn't impossible.

That said, it's the price you pay when you rely on a small number of guys. One guy going down can have a big impact, and leaves everybody wondering "what if" in the playoffs.

I still do not understand why everyone thinks 40 min. per game is a lot. All of the superstars do it. TMac, Kobe, all of em. What's the big deal when your whole team does it, rather than just one player?

The reason the Spurs are winning is because they execute better in the 4th quarter. It's that simple. It has nothing to do with Bench Production, Minutes Played or whatever. The Spurs are battle tested and it shows. They get the stops and make the big shots when it counts. That's all there is to it.

And Joe Johnson would be a HUGE help because he is probably the Suns 2nd best defender and he'll be a lot more effective on Parker or Ginobili than Steve Nash is. Nash will stick to the offensively challenged Bowen and the Suns will be a little better on the defensive side. Joe is also the only other play maker that can create his own shot. He gets into the lane with regularity and hits the little tear drops (like Parker does all the time) and he's good distrubuting if he needs to. Plus, he's the 2nd best three point shooter in the NBA (only missing out on the #1 spot because freakin' Fred Hoiberg didn't shoot it all that much).

But like I said...the Suns aren't losing because they are playing bad per se...they are losing because the Spurs have more experience and they execute better down the stretch. The Suns blowing two leads in the 4th quarter is pretty good evidence of that.

The Suns shot .48 and .55, scored above their season average.

The Spurs a superior defensive team but they haven't exactly shut down the Suns.
