At this point in their careers, who is more HOF worthy, T-Mac or Vince Carter?

Neither(at least not yet)...But If I had to chose, I'd go with MAC... Both quit on their teams, both haven't done much in the playoffs, both though have gotten their teams into the playoffs with sub-par supporting casts, but T-Mac had a lot less talent and still got to the playoffs in 2002-2003, I believe and he also has a scoring title. He's also a better defender and overall, the better playmaker.
And good job HH not adding Kobe in this question -

Neither are close ATM.
Both could be by their careers end...but they really need rings / some sort of impact on 'The Finals'.Comment

I got to go with mac. He's Just better overall. He's a Better scorer, playmaker, and defender. Lead the league in scorer twice, one of the few players to avg 30+ pts, 5+ reb, and 5+ asst. He took a team with almost no talent to the playoffs. He is one of the few to score 60. Scored 13 points in 35 seconds to win a game with the best defensive team statically this year. A 29ppg avg for the playoffs. He became the youngest player to average 30-plus points per game since the NBA/ABA merger in 1976-77 and the youngest since Bob McAdoo (34.5 ppg) back in 1974-75.Comment

Re: At this point in their careers, who is more HOF worthy, T-Mac or Vince Carter?
this cant be a serious question.....neither are HOF worthy.....not even close! Once they decide to become better team players then their careers will start to mean something. As of now, both are playing for stats and money. Anytime a player pouts and wants to be traded he is a bitch. MJ had many teams that was subpar and he made the most of them...yeah MJ didnt pass early in his career but when MJ wanted to start winning, he started to take on a better leadership role. The players today dont have the drive and intenstity to be superstars.....too much griping, moaning and complaining about coaches, playing time, shots and contracts.
I also forgot that neither of these players play any D......Last edited by Gilateen; 06-21-2005, 08:17 AM.Comment

Re: At this point in their careers, who is more HOF worthy, T-Mac or Vince Carter?
Its obvious that neither are close and I'm not sayin that either will get in. Its just at this point, who's career looks more like that of a HOFamer. Even if its a looooonnnnnggggggsssshhhhoooootttt and a choice had to be made, who would you go with?
I picked Vince because he was one game short from gettin his team to the ECF's and made an immediate impact as soon as he got in the league. He declined but he came right into NJ and absolutely carried that team to the playoffs.
But the choice of T-Mac is just as good though because he's made an improvement every year and some of the #'s he has put up has just been crazy. I still question whether he will ever get out of the first round because he tends to come back down to earth late in a Playoff series. He's also struggled in the big games which is the difference between stayin in the Playoffs or goin home early.Comment
