Well, so what if Manu flops, at least he doesn't whine. Flopper versus a whiner. It has nothing to do with skin color, just being smart in the right place and time.

Originally posted by ajaxabGinobili is as white as Italians are white. Given that many Italians emigrated to Argentina a century or so ago and given that Ginobili has a very Italian-sounding name, Ginobili has to be considered white. If he's not, then Italians aren't white either. And if Italians aren't considered white go ask those racist chanting Lazio football club fans if they would consider themselves white.
yeah, now that you mention it, he kinda reminds me of vinnie del negro, appearance wise, who played at nc state in college , and later played for the spurs. i believe he was like 1st or 2nd generation italian immigrant to the USA . i always thought of him as a "white" guy.Comment

Re: Sean Elliot talks Ginobili haters
IMO, I think the hate from the players is based on the medias constant need to over-sensationalize whoever's hot at any given time. Add to that the general assumption among blacks that the mainstream fanbase is always on the hunt for the next "Great White Hope", and it seems its inevitable that black players will be slow to acknowledge any non-black who gets a lot of attention.
Its a shame that Ginobilli got caught up in the this crap. He is neither as "great" as the media makes out, nor as "mediocre" as the black players indicate. The truth is Somewhere in the middle....Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Bingo thats the bottom line... tryin gto play the race card in reverse to justify you blowing up yet another over rated player is bogus. And the media does this with black players as well...
Bowen had it rough he had no parents ok why in hell does that matter in the scope of the game... lets not justofy why we need to like Bowen by pointing out he had it rough growing up. I am sure many people have it rough too it has no cpprelation with his perfprmance and his value as a player.Comment

Re: Sean Elliot talks Ginobili haters
Lets leave the last word to Tim Duncan.
Infinitely better qualified to comment on Manu than me, you...and all those 'unnamed' players.
Q. Could you please tell me what it's like to have had Manu as a teammate the last three years and watching him grow so much?
TIM DUNCAN: Manu is unbelievable. You can say this about so many people, and whether it be true or not, I think it's absolutely true for him. I don't think we've even scratched the surface with him. He's got so much to him. He just plays with reckless abandon, he doesn't care the time or the situation, he doesn't care if it's a preseason game or it's a Finals game. He plays the same way.
</B>
He's going to continue to grow and we're going to continue to grow around him. We're going to continue to understand what he wants to do and when he wants to do it. He was so big for us, every game, in the fourth quarter, he was the guy that took things or really made things happen, and to play besides someone like that who can do that in that situation, it takes so much pressure off of myself, off of Tony. It helps our team so much, and you can see it, and he doesn't care. He's going to make the play. He's going to make it happen, and he got a lot well, he gave himself a lot of crap for the finish of Game 6 or whatever, he thought he took some bad shots. He thought he would make some plays down the stretch and make some shots. He got on himself about it more than anybody else got on him and that's what he's going to do. We understand it now and we love having him and we love we love what he does down the stretch.Comment
