Re: MInnesota's New GM is Rex Chapman
Hmmm so is McHale just the prez of basketball ops now?
What is it with teams hiring washed up players as GMs these days???Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I thought McHale held the same type of position that Rod Thorn does of the Nets(President/CEO). Ed Stefanski is the Nets GM, but Thorn has veto power.Comment

Re: MInnesota's New GM is Rex Chapman
Im just curious of the moves considering the teams delicate situations.
You have LeBron on your team, and you hire Danny Ferry to be the GM. Im not too sure of his qualifications, but for the fact that you dont hear much means they aren't quite notable.
This one player and you bring in a guy who has what kind of respect and crediblity with business dealings with other GMs around the NBA?
The decisions made here over the next couple of years decide whether LeBron will probably mull over leaving his home state. Pretty delicate if you ask me. You can tell the guy doesnt like to lose.
Minnesota, had a disasterous season last year. How can the ship be righted? They fired one of the leagues best coaches and still have nothing to show for it. Was there a plan or vision to follow up this move besides Chapman.
I dont see him in any other perspective than Ferry. I know they've held down front office jobs, but not GM positions. The dealing, initiation, and creativeness goes to another level than a background job in an organization at this point.
One thing for sure, the draft that was not long ago deemed (the draft with no real impact player) will be an interesting start for these teams futures.Comment

I remember when he played for Phoenix and hs game was pretty gangster. I don't know much else about him, so I dont know what to expect out of him in the front office.-Jay Illestrate, Emcee/Producer/Graphic Artist

Chapman is a great hire for the TWolves. He played an instrumental role in getting the Colangelos to agree to bring back Steve Nash. He was our director of basketball operations, and well, the result of his work was very good.Comment
