    Pistons MLE??? Jalen??

I was listening to the local Detroit station. They were talking about how the Raptors might dump Jalen Rose contract. Anyone think the Pistons could snag him with the MLE?

Won't happen. We would only gain a small amount of luxury tax space. We aren't that far into the luxury tax, where we need to dumb Jalen.

I heard Laker rumors to run the point, but Vince knows more than I do here.

Brian Grant, Caron Butler and the 10th pick for Jalen, either Rafer Alston, Eric Williams or Lamond Murray and the 7th pick was the last rumor that I heard of with Jalen heading out West.

Definitely a horrible thing. I don't see Lakers involved in anything where Caron Butler and trade are both involved. I think Caron is staying. I'd sure like to see Jalen go to Detroit though. They need another scorer. Richard Hamilton was a one season wonder. This season, he came up shorter and looked horrible in the playoffs. Jalen for Richard?? I like that one....They both don't stick good defense. Jalen is more offensive. Would definitely be a killer....

Can't wait for NBA 2K6 to come out.

I can definitely say for certain that Richard Hamilton didn't have his best showing in the Finals this year, but to say that he's a one-year wonder, is far from the truth. His numbers this year were consistent with what he's been doing for the past 5 years.

Although the Pistons need to add more scoring punch to their line-up, I don't know how receptive Jalen would be to coming off the bench. Plus, I don't think he'd be a good fit for the defensive cohesiveness the Pistons have created over the past few seasons.

Acquiring Jalen Rose would be interesting, but I don't think that'll happen.

Anyway, the player I really want to see the Pistons get this offseason via free agency is Michael Finley. I believe Finley skills set and good work ethic would blend in really well with the team. I'm hoping the Mavericks eventually release him within the next couple weeks, as many are predicting.

I agree. The consensus on Caron is that he is a potential all-star caliber player. He's showed it here and there so I don't doubt that its a possibility.

This is where I MUST disagree. One season wonder? Rip had a strong season and many tend to forget, if it wasn't for Rip's play against Miami, Detroit may not have made it to the Finals. His Game 7 performance against the Heat was amazing.

Jalen for Richard?? I like that one....They both don't stick good defense. Jalen is more offensive. Would definitely be a killer....
I wouldn't mind seeing Jalen in Detroit but if Rip is the key for the trade, I don't like it one bit. You can argue whether Jalen is better offensively than Rip, but I'd take Rip's side, as well as his side defensively. Rip is the go-to guy in that offense and this team depends too much on his style of play to change it completely for Jalen Rose.

There will be no trade, unfortunatly. Jalen is making around 28 million the next 2 years. The only teams that will trade for him are the Knicks(to dump Penny) and possibly the Lakers(to dump Grant)
