SAR visits NJ/Uncle Spliffy to join Miami
Splif to Miami would be a great pickup for them. Hopefully, it will take them more out of the SAR sweepstakes.
The Nets learned that they are going to lose two of their own free-agent forwards: Clifford Robinson's negotiation with Miami is progressing quickly

Re: SAR visits NJ/Uncle Spliffy to join Miami
Shareef would be a nice addition to NJ...
Kidd
VC
Jefferson
Abdur-Rahim
Kristic
I'd watch.
Jacksonville Jaguars - Seattle Seahawks - Seattle Mariners - Jacksonville Sharks - Oklahoma City Thunder - Florida Gators -

I can see SAR fitting in much better than Clifford. Then they can leave Cliff alone and pick up Kenyon. What position does Kenyon play? Don't they already have enough guards/small forwards? I don't know about all that stuff there. I'm really liking these moves. Oh, the teams are looking juicy for real. I see New Jersey making it deeper this year. Hopefully Vince and Kidd work better together and Jefferson improves his shot and driving. Oh, I'd love to see them against the Bulls. I wonder if SAR would consider Sacremento? I have a feeling that he's not going to get up with New Jersey. Can only hope though....Comment

Kenyon Martin is a PF and plays with the Nuggets. I don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon. Now Cliff's got a good shot, but I see him playing the same role that Laettner did this past year with the Heat. Laettner was "hurt" for a good portion of the season and then came back ready for the playoffs. I just can't see Cliff giving them quality back-up minutes for 82 games.Originally posted by luv_mistI can see SAR fitting in much better than Clifford. Re: SAR visits NJ/Uncle Spliffy to join Miami
New Jersey is going to beast in the East next year, before Jefferson's injury he was playing like an all star, his shot, his ability to drive. I expect him to be that same person and with the addition of SAR & Keyon the Nets are going to look even deeper.
Kristic- Collins- Smith
SAR- Evans
Jefferson- Wright- Drejer
Carter- Dooling- Plannic
Kidd- Best- Vaughn
With Veal going to Beantown and Robinson to Miami the Nets only problem will be at the 4 spot because after Reef there's not much else at the 4, so Thorn will definately have to address that, maybe trade Zoran and a draft pick for a bigComment

SAR to decide within the week
he Nets won't have long to wait.
Shareef Abdur Rahim and his wife have agreed on a timetable, and its length is a result of how comfortable they felt during their visit to New Jersey.
"I'll decide in maybe a week -- at the most," Abdur-Rahim said yesterday
"As soon as possible," his wife, Dee, agreed. "No more than a week."
And yes, that is probably a positive sign for the Nets

I'd say its 90% that SAR is headed to NJ. He was in NJ Wednesday and Tuesday. Had dinner at Kidd's house along with RJ and Vince, the owner and GM took him out to dinner the next night. I think this means SAR is giving the other teams one more week to try and lure him to their side, or he will go to NJ. But it seems like most of them are dealing with their own players.Comment

Re: SAR visits NJ/Uncle Spliffy to join Miami
Would be a nice addition to the NETS, he's fit in their style of OFF. Their starting lineup of
JKidd
VC
RJ
SAR
Nenad
will cause teams with BIG lineups trouble due to their running & athletic ability JKidd should have fun running & dishing with that lineup.
Only thing is the NETS still don't address their DEF with this addition. They might be the EAST version of the SUNS this upcoming season.Comment

Re: SAR visits NJ/Uncle Spliffy to join Miami
Abdur-Rahim just doesn't make sense to me, financially. The Nets can't give him more than the mid-level exception, and he's worth a lot more. After more than eight years on here, I finally figured out how to edit my time zone!Comment

Re: SAR visits NJ/Uncle Spliffy to join Miami
Why is he worth a lot more? He's never been on a winning team, never been to the playoffs. He's not a franchise type player, he's a complementary guy. He would fit perfectly with NJ, save for the fact that he's not that great of a rebounder.Originally posted by brahmagoulAbdur-Rahim just doesn't make sense to me, financially. Re: SAR visits NJ/Uncle Spliffy to join Miami
I think I meant Dooling. Almost scared me for a minute. I think the Nets were talking about getting him weren't they. By leaving Clifford alone, I think the Heat could pick him up if they want and they could pick up Dooling. I think that's what I meant....Originally posted by zasbury25Kenyon Martin is a PF and plays with the Nuggets. I don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon.
