Re: Sarunas Jasikevicius
Sarunas Jasikevicius is a true point guard can you name me some point guards that can make an impact on their teams? Kidd, Nash, who else? and not name marbury or something like that cause they are not playing the point...
Kerr was just a great shooter nothing more Sarunas is better in every aspect of the game...
and if you remember Syndey 2000 olympics sarunas nearly beat that dream team (lost by 2) against Kidd and PaytonComment

Re: Sarunas Jasikevicius
I watched Sarunas at MD and yeah, a rock could probably break his ankles.
But LBJ ought to worry about his own "el matador" defense before he harps on any current or future teamates. Defense should be played, first and formost, in fornt of the player your guarding! I'm sick of watching him refuse to shuffle his damn feet and instead try for a reach arouund swipe as his man goes in for a layup.
With his quickness and size he has the physical gifts to be a lockdown defender.
I hope Big Z is quick on his feet because it looks like his wing men - LBJ and Hughes, and probably Sarunas - aren't gonna stop anyone from getting to the rim.Comment

He more than held his own out there that day. They ended up losing to the US in the bronze medal, but from I remember, still played extremely well.
Team USA tanked in the Olympics, so that only proves he will look good in exhibition games. After more than eight years on here, I finally figured out how to edit my time zone!Comment

That being said, there is SOME reason that this guy has never played in the NBA. He played 4 years of college ball here, it's not like he is a young european project. He put up *OK* numbers at Maryland, he wasn't nationally known. I think he was drafted in the 2nd round and chose to play in Europe instead for the guaranteed money. I would love to see the nuggets pick him up, but as a 6th or 7th option off the bench. He's small for the NBA.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Sarunas Jasikevicius
Well, from the looks of it, Sarunas is probably coming to Cleveland. A guy over on the boards @ RealGM posted a story from some European site that (when translated) said that Sarunas has agreed to play for us and now they're just working on the contract. It will probably be in the neighborhood of $10 million over 3 years. Again, there's only one site reporting this, so take it for what you will.
Also, that same report said Andriuskevicius is going to play one more year over in Europe before coming to Cleveland to backup Z.Comment
