How many minute quarters for ID2003?

I'm trying to find the perfect time for quarter length in this game, I'm getting about 175 shots a game between both teams on 8 minute quarters and about 140-145 on 6 minute quarters so it seems as if 7 may be the appropriate length for quarters. Anyone else have an opinion on this?

I was thinking 7, but my X-box keeps freezing so I haven't finished a game with 7 min qtrs yet.

Re: How many minute quarters for ID2003?

question for the two having their xbox freeze on them...(cus this happened to me, i called xbox and so far i havent had a problem)

        1. when it freezes, do you hear an unending eeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhh sound that only stops when you reset the system?

        2. does this only happen in NBA Inside Drive 2003 -- you never had this problem with any other game? Well it is possible that it happens with other games. I have never had a problem with NFL 2k3 or Halo.

        3. is this primarily happening in the first quarter?

        4. is it totally random? -- sometimes after a dunk, sometimes when you are just dribblin upcourt, etc.?

If so, here are a couple of tips:

        1. make sure that your xbox is atleast 12-16 inches away from any other electronic. I had my xbox sitting right next to my television. Big no no.

        2. make sure it is not placed on a carpet -- keep it on a shelf or something made from wood, ya know what i mean.

        3. never keep your DVD playback kit connected to the system during playtime or after playing a movie. always remove the little box-like block.

Now here is what you will have to do:

        1. Go to Memory in your XBOX system and delete the entire NBA Inside Drive file. Not just the small save file, but the large circle block that says NBA Inside Drive 2003. You will have to remove the entire contents.

        2. Follow all of the above tips.

        3. You should not have any problems after that.

The reason you will have to delete the entire memory block (sorry if you had important stuff on it, such as a season) is b/c it is possible that the save file is corrupt.

A corrupt file mostly occurs when you system is too close to an electronic. The XBOX is the only system with two fans (all other consoles have one) that are strong to allow for extensive gameplay. Those fans are so strong that at times it can inhale the waves being emitted from other electronics (DVD player, Television, Radio) and during gameplay or saving the XBOX may have difficulty operating correctly. It is also a major reason why you'll sometimes get a "Can't identify or read disk" message.

Hopefully this all helps the two of you. If none of the first four questions apply to you then it is something else that is occurring. Why this only happens to Inside Drive 2003, I do not know. I think that its possible that the game is more sensitive during saves than other games. I was told by an XBOX rep that that could never happen b/c all the games are made the same, but I disgress.

Regardless, the following tips should allow you to run your system and game properly. If you have any more questions you can respond to this thread or PM me.

I have work till 3 and wont be able to answer any questions till after 3 (unless I can sneak in some views at work).

Re: How many minute quarters for ID2003?

Yankee pride, thanks for the tips......I do set my xbox right in front of (close to) the tv and its on the carpet as well. What happens when my game freezes is the sound will go out.......then I hear the disc make some weird noises like its shifting or something.....

Then eventually everything freezes. Sometimes I pause the game and wait for the disc to stop making that shifting sound.....sometimes I am able to resume, only to have the game freeze up later.

I have never had this problem with anyother game except for NFL Fever......

Madden would freeze up sometimes too in the 3rd qtr.

Inside drive usually freezes up in the 2nd or 3rd qtr everytime.

Sometimes, it won't even load up. But I'll try your suggestions, maybe I wont have to get a new xbox, I hope not.
          thanks again.....

Thanks for the tips because the same EXACT thing happens to me. Freezes in the first quarter and a strange sound starts happening and usually after a foul or something...thanks! Also, does this happen to any of you: the announcers just stop talking for no reason in the middle of the game? Is that part of the problem as well???

Oh, and to get back on topic, I usually play 6-7 minute quarters and it workd out great!

this is something that many people have been experiencing.

                many more have not.

i just offered the tips for those that are having the problem b/c so far it has worked for me.

if you are running your xbox perfectly fine next to a television or wateva, then good for you. you have nothing to worry about. i just thought i add in some advice in case some people were concerned.

Are you using early sold Xboxes? There's been some talk of how those are more easily freezable...

For me Madden gives the dirty disc message rarely, like 4 or 5 times a month, and I have a pretty new Xbox.
