Re: Disturbing Trend In Basketball Games --- Rant about sales figures

I was very surprised when I posted links that directly contradict his "EA is a has been company" theory, he just replied with the same BS all over again. Of course no links to support his alternate-universe stock market theories.

I posted a reply laughing at him, but thought better of it and deleted it. Don't feel like playing "tennis against the wall" arguing with a mind like Lightning's...

      Waddup:

Okay, I see your point -- I was thinking more of the evolution of EA's franchises. I think Madden, NCAA, and Live have gotten more realistic over the years compared to previous versions. I don't play NHL, so I can't comment, but FIFA appears to be undergoing an overhaul similar to Live and seems more in league with FIFA 98 (the last good edition of the series). EA certainly is more in the arcade camp, but I think their games have added more realistic elements in general over the years (again, except for TP).

Certainly compared to Sega, they are much more arcade-like. But I don't feel EA's games are any more dumbed down than they were five years ago (that's actually the point I wanted to make).

I agree with you there, but I simply feel that EA Sports games are much more polished than Sega Sports, even with the ESPN license.
