    High Expectations for 2K4

I think 2K4 is going to be a great game..here's why:

If you look at 2K3, it's drastically different than 2K1 and 2K2. 2K1 and 2K2 were fairly similar games. It seemed that 2K2 basically just fixed up some bugs from 2K1 (ie. can't just spin past anyone). Now, I think 2K4 will fix up some of the flaws in 2K3 such as passing.

It just seems like 2K3 was a try at something very new.

There's something hideously wrong with NBA 2k3 other than the passing. The defensive AI needs to be reworked. The settings for the CPU for fast break and crashing boards should be dynamic, not static. the AI should actually be able to run the break. They just don't seem to be able to, and it's very annoying.

Gotta agree with Neo but I wouldn't call it drastic. 2k3 is pretty damn good in multiplayer. But the passing is probably the best part of the game. I didn't know people were still having problems with this.

NBA 2K3 is a perfect simulation, as my friend pointed out. The players set picks, work off screens, box out and rebound, shoot realistic percentages, make realistic inbounds passes, make realistic interior passes, etc. The one thing that they forgot to mention is the competitive factor. While they were so busy making the game a "simulation," they forgot to make the game challenging. And this is why so many of us are selling 2K3. We need a challenge in the one-player game. I am tired of taking the Wizards to the Finals and sweeping the Lakers with Jordan averaging 40 ppg at the age of 40. It's not real! We need a challenge and ID 2003 presents that challenge that we crave. It may be lacking in graphics and even in some of the other realistic aspects of 2K3, but when it comes to a challenging game that happens to be a simulation more-or-less, ID 2003 is the game to have.

Well, Padgoi, don't think there is one thing that can be argued in your post. Some people are challenged a lot by 2k3 but many of us it's still fun but would be nice to have to sweat a little.

Well I know there wroking on one of my flaws that I have with 2k3. Not being able to edit accesories on existing players.

It was never a big deal to me but it just doesn't seem right playing with Kenyon Martin when he has no tattoos.

            Call me crazy.

So Padgoi, In your opinion NBA inside drive 2003 offers the best challenge and still plays realistically? I guess I will go with NBA ID 2003 because I was leaning that way even before reading these posts.

In single player mode, judging only from what I've heard about Live I'd say ID2003 offers the best challenge. The challenge is a realistic one but the game doesn't play as realistically as 2k3 IMO. If you've never played either I'd definitely say you should rent both.
