I've had my fun online games too, but games like this just break your heart when ABSOLTEULY NOTHING can be done to stop them from making threes.

The game offline is great. I may stop to that./

I have to agree with you. Just the other day in the lobby I told the guys I couldnt wait for the new rosters just to start my franchise. Online is getting boring here are some of my reasons:
1.People only pick good teams
2.Too many threes are made even when you have a guy in there face
3.Players who only use one guy the whole game this is were fatigue should kick in
4.People who dont play their own defense all they do is switch off or babysit under the rim(I come online to play a human not the cpu)
5.Pausers(they really ruin the online experience)

Me and my friends have noticed that in multi-player games, we are almost as likely to make a 3-pointer as we are to make a 2-footer, so why wouldn't you always take that shot? It sucks because we try to be disciplined about running an offense against each other, but whever push caomes to shove and one of us is losing or needs an important basket we always end up jacking 3's - and making them.

I don't know what the answer is, but it doesn't surprise me this happens in online play as well.

I think you should play tight pressure on the shooters and call for a double team everytime they touch the ball. The good players will take advantage of the open man but If you have a good center that can block shots(ben wallace, etc) you can recover in time. I can't wait to play this game on XBOX live, because I blow out my friends by like 20-30+ everytime. I'm gonna find out how good I really am hopefully on the 15.

What setting were you playing on? From the sounds of that game I dont think you could have won that one if you tried. That is too many points to make up. It is also kinda hard to give you good advice without understanding how you play and your opponent. Did they run alot of screens to free up the shooter or did they do alot of crossovers to get free. If they called alot of screens than you have to learn to fight through the pick by either going over/under the man calling screen and immediately closing the distance once you've passed the screener. I'm not a big fan of double team. As for people picking the best teams thats the reality you are goin to face. Even back in the 2k1 days people would always pick LA and the Kings and I always used the nuggets. I handed a many butt whippings with the nuggets.
Dont give up on the live just yet because I think there will be more competition coming soon. Just be patient.

I still play but not as much as before. I found someone who played cool last night and doesn't only use Mavs or Kings to shoot threes.

What up Default? I've seen you online a few times.... But dont think we've played... I have some good and some bad experiences online... I as well run default cam and always ask on the boards or tell people that I run default cam only... And yet you still get challenged by peeps who'll inevitably change the cam on you... Or the famous pausers... Or the dude who waits for you to pick your team then goes to change his team to all stars west 90's.... But overall the experience is fun.... My suggestion, is why dont you guys join a league or something? So that you get guys who are in it for the exact same reason as you are, and thats to have a good game, without cheese.... If you guys are interested I think there are spots still available for the league I'm in...

I play straight man to man coverage. I let the two computer guards guard the 3 pt shooters, and I get my big man to attempt a block.

They just STRAIGHT UP SHOOT threes. He/she didnt set screens or didnt call plays. THEY basically threw up those shots with 6 hands in their face.

NO online play for me against people I dont know.

Anybody wanna play?

I'm waiting for XBOX live to play online but I was playing Madden online the other day against some IGN guy. He would go into goalline formation then wait for me to select my defense then switch to 5-wide, he did this one hole drive. Then I was punting with max block on while he was trying to block so he audibled to return, I kicked it. Then he was punting so I did the same thing to him then he quit.

Sorry for the offtopic but I haven't played Madden on-line since.

Wally, this isn't to say your gripe is wrong but if someone is drainin like that on me, I sure as hell want to control the guy guarding him. Say you've got regular coverage with a doubler...he's not tight enough, or maybe you don't have tight coverage at all, or maybe the height difference of Dirk matters unless you jump. Etc, etc, etc. I can't explain it b/c I've never had that problem but for the most part I try to guard the ball handler myself.

Maybe the guy I played against just got back from church, because some of those shots were prayers. I MEAN, SOME LUCKY LUCKY SH^&

The 1st 10 3 pointers, I was guarding the shooter. Then I put my defense to tight pressure, then I put double the defenders, ALWAYS, then I switched so I can have Shane Battier play Point to guard Nash and get some blocks, I had gooden at the two, Gasol, at the three, Wright at the four, and archibald, at the five. My main goal that whole game was to stop them from shooting threes.

ABSOLUTELY nothing worked. I'm not a ****head when it comes to playing defense. I'm a good competitor against the computer on all star with rearragnged sliders.

Just a bad game I guess.

I've spoken to the dude who's in charge on msn, and he' seems like a cool dude... Just tryin to get some fun/action going ya know... I mean, we've waited a long time for this capability, might as well be surronded by peeps like us who play the game with no cheese, seriously, yet fun, ya know!?!
