I too am waiting for confirmation of a PAL release. Im in australia but I get this really bad feeling that it isnt going to be released

have faith - sega europe have announced they're going to be releasing titles themselves, instead of using third party distributors, from january. however, they haven't said which titles exactly.

with the online play for ps2 and xbox being launched february and march, and particularly as microsoft will be throwing money at a big advertising campaign fro xbox live, my guess is 2k3 will be out around the same time.

Sega Europe though isnt Australia....

I really want 2K3!!! Does anyone know if there is some sort of chip or boot disc which could make a US version work. Then I could simply import the US version and bobs your uncle!

There are mod-chips, which are not illegal, but are mentioned like they are, couse you can play pirates. But the mod-chip itself isn't illegal. You can play import game on it.

Hm, not sure if its illegal or not. Sony attacked, i think. Back in the days, it was legal.

But hey, i care if its ilegal just becouse my message could be erased.. Otherwise, i don't care.

are you wanting the ps2 or xbox version? apparently modchipping xbox may well mean you can't use xbox live. as far as the sega europe issue is concerned, pal is the key. if its released in europe you should be able to order it on import fairly easily and play it without any modification.

i ordered an import version almost a month a ago, from a store right here in australia, they f#$@ing suck. i could have ordered it directly from the US and had it ages ago.

You make a bloody good point. If a PAL version is on it's way to Europe I can just import it from Europe and play it straight onto my XBox.

So is it confirmed that 2K3 is going to Europe and if so, will it be soon.

its a subtle difference in language, but worth noting: a month ago sega-europe had no information on whether 2k3 would be released in europe. having queried their intention to distribute their own titles, they responded this week by saying they have no information "on a release date".
my guess is still march…

Damn that's a long time waiting till it's march.
Why is it that there wasn't a release straight away in Europe also when 2K3 came out? Or even a few weeks delay, but MARCH comon that's f..... up

traditionally, sega sports don't release titles in europe. as far as the nba 2k series are concerned, we've had 2k and 2k2 on dreamcast, and that's been all. however, until now, sega have used third party distributors to release their titles. this changes in january.

its as likely to be wrong as right, but march is my guess - to tie-in with the retail launch of xbox live in europe. since its the only one of the big three with online play, i figure sega may give it a whirl to see how it sells this year, when it has a distinct advantage over id2003 and live.

(out of interest, although 2k3 hasn't been confirmed for release, id2003 is due either 15 nov or 6 dec, live on 29 nov, and beggering all understanding, starting five sometime in december, and ballers early next year)
