Prove to me Rick Carlisle is the best Coach in the NBA because as of now, I DISAGREE

It seems since the Pacers made the Playoffs and responded well after The Brawl, everyone has been on this Carlisle-lovefest. There is no denying that this guy is a great coach in today's NBA, but has he truly done enough to be considered the best coach in the league?

IMO, G-Pop and Larry Brown are before him, and now that Phil is back, he's ahead of RC as well. I mean I can't just easily put him ahead of guys like George Karl and Jerry Sloan.

This isn't a slight at Carlisle because he's done a wonderful job in Indiana. I just think its pre-mature to call a guy with only 4 Seasons of HC experience the best Coach. If he would've actually won a ring in that period, maybe that recognition would be deserved, but as of now, I just don't see how. Maybe we're underrating just how good Pop, LB and Phil are?

Carlisle is a good coach. He is in the top 3 in the east and in the top 10 in the nba. He got fired after consecutive 50 win seasons. He took a team that was torn apart after the brawl and took them to the playoffs with no Artest and some players gone for a month. He is a good coach!

Did somebody from OS call Carlisle the best Coach in the NBA? Or somebody on ESPN?

I don't ever recall anybody saying he was the best. But I do think he's somewhere in the 5-10 range. Personally, I think Phil Jackson, Larry Brown, Gregg Popavich, Jeff Van Gundy, Jerry Sloan and Frank Hamblen are all better. They're probably still a couple more that I'm missing..

So, I agree with you, he's not the best Coach. He's been fortunate to have alot of talent on him teams, although he did a great job this year in Indiana with a shortened roster.
