    Question for Bulls fans

Why are Chandler and Curry only getting 15-20 minutes PT per game?

I watched the game on WGN last night vs. the Hawks and they both looked like they are really starting to progress, yet every time the starting 5 started to gel and go on a run. Cartwright pulled them out in favor of Fizer, Marshall and co.

What gives? Are they going to finally give these guys some real PT to develop this year or what?

Right now I would give Marshall all the time beacause he's playing the best. Fizer gets time when he's on. He a streak player. When he's hot...play him. When he's not...bench him.

The vets have been playing very well. Curry did not get a rebound until last night's game against the Hawks, and he is a liability on defense. Chandler is decent defensively, but doesn't really have a post game, and his enthusiasm sometimes gets him into trouble. (See Game 1 vs. Boston).

Coach Cartwright has said that he will go with whoever is playing well. The kids are playing well, but the vets are keeping them focused and in the game. Donyell Marshall has been excellent. But I think as the season goes on, you'll see Tyson and Eddy get more minutes.

I want to see them grow... as much as all of us do... but...

If the vets are playing well please.. let's win the game.. keep the vets in..

But being that Curry and Chandler are starters... they have their chance to make an impact in a game..

I believe as the season goes on... they'll get better and get their minutes..

But we have to to win the games with the hot guys!!

Fortunately this year.. we have at the least a 10 man rotation... Maybe even 11 if Lonny Baxter can get off the bench!

I agree, ChicagoNVA. We are definitely deep this year. I hope Lonny gets some more PT as the season goes on. He could make Fizer expendable...

I'm not a Bulls fan but, I do watch them sometimes because i'm curious to see how Curry and Chandler are. I don't like the Curry and Fizer draft choices. Maybe it'll work out but i'm not sold on them. I do like Chandler, but he's got to get a little offense going. I think the Bulls will be competing for a playoff spot by next year.

Thanks everyone. That's about what I figured. Keep in mind these two are still, what, about 20 years old? Noone makes a huge impact out of HS for at least a few years (even KG), but I really think getting some PT helps speed up the process.

As for Baxter, I saw him play quite a bit in College and I think he's going to be a bust. He doesn't have the body to play PF and he can't create his own shot like he would need to in order to play SF. I hope I'm wrong, but clearly Wilcox has the upper hand out of the 3 that were drafted this year from Maryland.

I disagree. Baxter was their best player in the summer league on a team that included Jay Williams, Tyson Chandler, Eddy Curry, Trent Hassell, and Jamal Crawford. He had a monster game in the preseason where he scored like 28 points in 26 mintues. He has been working hard and produces a lot in limited minutes. He's probably their second best rebounder after Marshall. That's why he made the opening day roster... He could be the steal of the draft.

As for Curry, I think he'll be much better than Fizer in the long run. He has some nice offensive skills which are improving, but he really needs to work on his D.

The Bulls still have fans? Hell I thought they all left with MJ, Scottie, and Phil.

Yeah, bdfan, being a huge terps fan with the heels as my second favorite I could kill you just for your name (lol). But anyway, Baxter is probably the most polished. Dixon is the man but he's too small to make a serious impact at two and not skilled enough to do it at point, at least not yet. Wilcox is incredibly athletic but that's about it right now. He definitely can't create his own shot. Baxter's got some serious moves around the basket. No way he can play 3 but definitely 4. I don't think he'll ever be a force b/c he's small but he'll be a nice player off the bench.

He's kind of a tweener like Fizer. But hey, Barkley was short too, but he was highly effective at PF... Not saying Baxter's the next Barkley or anything, but I don't think 6'8" is too small considering there are guys in the east who are 6'9" playing center.

True but Baxter's probably 6'7" and doesn't have hops. I think Barkley is a perfect comparison as is Fizer. But both have/had decent outside shots and Baxter can only play inside 15 feet really. I hope he does do well.

Wow, I didn't know he did so well in Summer League. I still figure he is the epitome of a skilled NCAA Player who will never find a place in the NBA, though I hope I'm wrong. Now if he had Wilcox's athleticism and body....

I would love to see the Bulls make the playoffs in a couple years. I enjoy following young developing teams every year rather than championship contenders. I like the Clips out West and the Bulls in the East. I've also been a Pacers fan for years and they have a really good future - probably the deepest bench in the East.

The True Blue fans never left.. Might have wanted to send some boys at J.Krause and tell him to leave town. (Make him an offer he can't refuse!)
