    ID 2003 weaknesses

I frickin love ID 2003 but I have noticed a couple of things that bother me. As has been mentioned before the rebounding can be frustrating because it is difficult to time. As someone else says you almost have to jump before the player shoots in certain circumstances. The only other thing that bothers me is the passing at times can be frustrating. If you are quick enough to bring up the icons its not bad but there are times when you don't have the icons up and you have a man wide open and you try to pass in his direction but the ball goes somewhere else. Other than that a very very solid game.

The biggest weakness for me is the graphics. It almost looks like a 2-D fighter if you know what I mean. For the most part the rest is tolerable with better graphics.

Passing is very frustrating since you can't seem to determine when you're going to throw a bullet chest pass or bounce pass. The only way to lob is by setting the right stick to that and as far as I can tell there's no way to change the controller configuration.

Collision detection is very strange. At times you can't tell if you're getting by someone or not. Having the ball knocked out and then picked up for a steal is cool but with the collision detection as is it seems too unpredictable.

Someone mentioned that they'd seen about as many crossover moves as in 2k3 but I've tried every possible way and I haven't seen more than maybe 4 including spin moves and going behind the back (technically not crossovers).

You can successfully fast break all game. If you don't want to play real basketball you can just heave the ball up court and press towards the basket, hoping you'll score. Even if you miss you'll probably get the offensive rebound. This may help the CPU make the game as competitive as it is in single player but gets pretty old in multiplayer.

I think that's about it for now. I've got the game for a couple more days so I'll post more if I see it.
