For those of u like me who thinks free throws r to easy in NBA2K3......

Try turning the FREE THROW HELP setting on under gamelpay. It works pretty much the same way as your normal jump shot where your release of the shot has to be on time. I have tried this in the last 2 games of my season and the misses are much more frequent than using the arrows, where i would miss 1 -2 free throws MAX per game....

I like this setting alot, i think u guys should give it a try

Yes I've praised this option in the past. Kudos to Sega Sports for adding this option. It makes for a more realistic outcome. I use the S-controller for the Xbox and find the free throws to be too easy even on the hardest difficulty. I've enabled Free Throw Help and getting realistic results. I hope they keep this option for future editions of the game.

Hey I use free throw help exclusively... its much more realistic to the simulation than my making every free throw with analog.

One thing though, are you sure that it matters when you release the shot on free throw with help on? I seem to make just as many even if i press the button right away or way late... it almost doesnt seem to matter.

What do you think? go try it out

I don't think it matters. I believe the computer makes the free throw for you. The computer takes into consideration who is at the line and his attributes for free throws. So for example if Shaq is throwing free throws, chances are he is going to miss 1 out of 2 or both free throws. It's more realistic this way.

Yeah I use that option, mainly because I can't get the regular way to work, and it seems to be realistic so I'm happy with, and whether or not it matters when you press to shoot or not I don't know but it seems that when I tap the shoot button just after the routine I make more that way, Not sure that is true but I will contiune to do it that way, Vinsanity's explaination sounds good though.

By using this option, it makes games against the AI closer. I used to get 24-25 free throws a game but now it's more realistic

I think this is a GREAT feature, and have been hoping for one like it for a while. ID2003 also has this option. Really makes the game more realistic IMO.

I don't have 2K3, but this doesn't seem like a great feature, IMO. So, it completely takes the control away from you on free throws?? I don't like that. What if you need a big free throw down the clutch? I also wish FT % were more accurate, but I still think the user should be in control. Why not have a FT difficulty slider that actually works?
