Kobe's Job Description while Shaq is out..

I found this on the L.A Times website, I think it hits the nail on the head. Kobe's Job Description:

1. Score 30 a game.
2. Lead the team in rebounds.
3. Lead the team in assists.
4. Guard the other team's best scorer.
5. Compensate for weak role players by getting them wide-open shots.
6. Encourage discouraged teammates at halftime by letting them know they can still win.
7. Encourage discouraged teammates after the game by telling them they were competitive.
8. Answer reporters' questions about why you're so selfish.
9. Answer reporters' questions about why you aren't selfish enough.
10. Initiate the offense and run the triangle so Fisher, Slava or George can shoot whenever they want.
11. Bail the team out when the clock is running down and nobody has been able to create their own shot.
12. Be the subject of every Web site's amateur psychologist. Does Kobe want to be the Man? Did Kobe inherit his father's selfishness? Does Kobe really want to run the triangle?
13. Smile while every wannabe brags that he could be wearing your rings if he got to play with Shaq.
14. Prepare for the next game so someone can gun for you and say, "He's not all that."

Put Tracy Mcgrady, Allen Iverson, Vince Carter, Kevin Garnett, ect., with Shaq.... they'd all have 3 rings too. Figures the LA Times would put that in there.

also vince isnt as clutch as kobe. part of the reason we are 3 time champs is because kobe has been the MAN down the stretch in the 4th quarters. i doubt vince would do that. only one that i sorta agree on ON that list is t-mac. and thats a maybe

ai, carter, kg won't win it all with shaq. Shaq had penny hardaway, when he was good, but he didn't win the ring. He had three all-stars, van exel, eddie jones, and the kobe of the past, but he didn't win. The reason lakers can win the championship now is cuz kobe has matured a lot more and is great in the clutch.

Sorry, the reason that they have won the past 3 years is because of Phil. Shaq had a great team in Orlando, with very good players around him, and didn't win. Then, Shaq had the Quick, Eddie, Kobe, and Elden to back him up, and still didn't win. Phil is the key to get you over that hump. He brings out the best in you.

Look at how much passing AI is doing with KVH, and he isn't even a dominate player. AI is in the top 20 in asst and has been taking less shots. So stop hatin. </font color>

<font color="red">KG, AI, VC, TMAC, could'nt win with Shaq???? That's crazy. Stop ridding Kobe's balls. When Shaq had penny, Shaq was no where as good as he is now. Back then all he could do is dunk. On that Orlando team, Shaq wasn't even the #1 option, Penny was. The only reason that Eddie Jones and them could'nt win a championship with Shaq is because, they didn't have Phil Jackson as their coach. As soon as Phil became coach they started to win championships. If Phil had never come to the Lakers, they would never had won 3 titles and Shaq would still be fighting with Kobe. As a matter of fact if Phil wasn't there, Kobe would might even be on another team. So, obviously Phil is the reason they're winning and if wasn't for him the Lakers would still be making 1st or 2nd round exits. </font color>
