I seriously doubt the Hornets play a game in NO...
This season. I've heard that a best case scenario for all the water to be taken out would be 3 months, but that it would be more likely that they pump it all out in about 6 months. With all the disaster, I just can't envision the Hornets playing basketball. I really doubt the fans will care, or will have the money to be able to go to the games. I'm sure DS is looking for an alternative as I type this.Tags: None -

yea some are saying they may play their entire season in oklahoma city, since we have the new ford center. that would be awesome cause i could actually go and watch a few games. -

I was thinking that right when the Saints starting looking for a home. My biggest wonder is if they'll really bring the teams back next year or will the Saints and Hornets look for new permament homes. Who knows. I'm sure they are already looking at new locations for the Sugar Bowl.Comment

I will go out on a limb and sadly say that there will be no sporting events in NO at least until next season. They need to just evacuate that town and let the people do what they need to do to restore that city.Comment

Well NO fans probably could careless right now, but also Shinn has bein doing the same things to them he did in Charlotte. That is alienating his own fan base. I wish someone would buy the franchise from that man.President of the Devils Den

I wonder if the Hornets did move again if they would keep their name the same. I imagine they would, as they are not an expansion team, but that would be the third move for the team in recent history.Enjoy football? Enjoy Goal Line Blitz!Comment

Re: I seriously doubt the Hornets play a game in NO...
The New Orleans Arena where they play now is relatively new, and I believe it was built in order to attract an NBA team... I'm not sure if they promised Shinn a new building... I don't think there's a need for a new arena there, and if there was, those plans are surely scrapped now...
The rumor has been that the All-Star game being played in Vegas is gonna pave the way for a team to move there eventually... Even before Katrina, there were a lot of people who were already getting pissed with Shinn... The attendance figures in New Orleans were starting to reflect this... I wouldn't be at all surprised if this situation, while tragic, greases the skids for the Hornets to be placed in New Orleans.Comment

Oklahoma City offers to host the Hornets
I agree with Tarheelman it looks like the Hornets could be playing in Las Vegas sooner rather then later. I know it means diddly squat in the scheme of things but it's kinda sad that New Orleans will likely lose both of its pro teams.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Las Vegas makes sense for the upcoming season for the Hornets. I dont expect them to play in New Orleans this coming season either.Comment

Doesn't KAnsas City have a new arena?
That would be the most logical pickXBOX 360 is my GodComment

Either would be a good decision but I would lean to the Kansas Cty fan-base because they are one of the most loyal fan-bases. (With the Chiefs in mind of course)XBOX 360 is my GodComment

Re: I seriously doubt the Hornets play a game in NO...
doesnt every city think they have the best fan base tho. the advantage to going to oklahoma is:
1. closer
2. oklahoma has no pro sports teams and the focus could be soley on the hornets.
other than ou football oklahoma doesnt have anything and i think the fans would definately welcome the hornets more than kansas city, and more than most cities since we have nothing.
just my two centsComment
