    Padgett signing with NJ

InsideHoops.com editor Jeff Lenchiner reports that Scott Padgett will sign with the New Jersey Nets. The 6-9, 240 Padgett is the size of a power forward but he shoots outside like a guard, with a career 38.8% three-point field goal percentage." InsideHoops.com

I was going to say the same thing, I really don't think the players really do fail the physical, Ratner doesn't want to shell out money & in the long run Kidd is going to want out. Kidd window of oppurtunity for a championship is small, so they have to get the right players before his chance for a championship is too late.

Padgett was gonna come to Phoenix, but later backed out. He's a good pickup.

It seems as if J wants out every summer. but he's always a Net.

Popeye Jones, Chris Anstey, Ryan Bowen, Shawn Bradley, Cherokee Parks > Scott Padgett

If you meant Kidd instead of Jefferson, it is hard to trade Kidd with his current condition where he is somewhat of an injury prone and with his contract, he is a hard pill to swallow. Aside from that, he is showing signs that either his age or injuries in the past is starting to catch up on him.

But either way, I beleive SA will always have a space for him behind Parker.

Why would anyone make a thread about Scott Padgett?

This guy should be in the NBDL.

If You Talking about the season when Kidd was hobbling on one leg against the Pistons in the East Semis two yrs ago then i understand that, if you talking bout this past season, then you got it all wrong, without Kidd's leadership & the triple doubles he had down the stretch we would have never made the playoffs, forget Carter........If J-Kidd wasn't playing in NJ, Carter would not have been that motivated, especially with RJ banged up. Kidd Still is the Best Definition of Pure PG in the NBA, he makes everyone better & sets them up for a high % shot & since Kidd has been with the Nets besides missing the 1st two months of this past season, he has never had a major injury with New Jersey. Finally Rod wouldn't trade Kidd to S.A. unless he's getting Parker & Ginobili in a trade & that would work because we have enough swingmen.
I agree with you on the age part from time to time J does show his age especially on the defensive side as he can't keep up with quicker guards, but he also shows he's smart using his size to backdown most PG.

Do you really mean Tony AND Manu?

But I wouldn't put that past Mr. Thorn. One of the best GMs in the league easily.

Scott Padgett is an average 11th man. Nothing to get excited about for NJ fans. He can hit the occassional three pointer, but is a poor rebounder and defender.
