Nets a step closer to moving to Brooklyn

I think this would be pretty badass, hopefully they'll be moving to BK about the same time I am.

I'm dying to see what the traffic will be like through there... It's already nuts down there. It will be great for the community, though, IMO.

This has been in the works for a while now hasnt it? And I was always wondering, do the nets really have bad attendance problems or something?

They couldn't sell out games when they played LA in the finals.

I live in Jersey, and i'll tell you that a lot of people here are from New York, and a lot from Philly too. If I took a count in my high school, it'll probably result in more Knicks fans than Nets fans.

The knock on the Meadowlands has always been location... It's literally in the middle of nowhere. There's nothing around, no restaurants, no place to hang out, and most importantly, no public transportation.... If I wanted to catch a Net game from NY, I'd have to catch a bus from the Port Authority by Times Square across the river. And I think the bus coming back to the city left at a certain time, regardless of whether the game was over or not. So I think that made a lot of people say "Screw it" and just stay home and watch on TV....

For a while, there was talk of curing that by moving to Newark, where there is more public transportation with the PATH trains that run between New Jersey and New York. And there is also more to do in downtown Newark than the surrounding area of the Meadowlands. For some reason that plan was scrapped, and then you started hearing about the plan to move to Brooklyn.

On the flip side, though, I never heard too much about the Devils having problems selling out the arena. Does anyone know if they're still planning on building that arena in Newark for the Devils? Because before it was under the premise that both the Nets and the Devils would play there.
