No blocking fouls in ID 2003?

Doesn't seem like there are ANY. Just shooting fouls and a TON of reach-in fouls and pushing fouls. At first, I was really liking this game, but then I noticed there hasn't been a single instance where I was getting called for a blocking foul and there were a ton of reach-in fouls called in the game. The game's still great, but I'm disappointed by this.

If they called blocking fouls by the book, I'd foul out 12 guys a game. LOL.

If you think about it, it would be far too difficult to play any sort of decent defense at all if you got called for every time you had moving contact on defense.

I see your point, but I'm afraid fixing that could make the game virtually unplayable.

I got called for blocking with Elton Brand last night. It's pretty rare though.

If there are no blocking fouls in the game, it's very tough to get to the line. I don't think you get to the line that often at all. I hate the fact that the players always reach in when reacting to your drive. It's almost as if it's a substitute for blocking and that's just not a good idea, IMHO. I've never seen a blocking foul called. Hell, even a charge is hard to get called, and I've tried running into defenders at times. It seems like ID 2003 is going the way of NBA 2k3 where they phased out blocking/charging fouls to make the game "playable". IMHO, this doesn't make the game playable, it just makes it easier and unrealistic. By the way, I did have fouls on strict.

One thing I'd like them to focus on next year's game is to see if they can do stuff like pump-faking the defender into the air and then shooting a leaner into him to get contact and get to the free throw line. I've done this while playing and the controller has even been rumbling but the game won't call the foul, and this is on the "strict" setting (I think I actually did get to the line once but that was more of a random thing). Of course, this kind of stuff happens elsewhere in the game. I had one instance in which I committed a turnover because at the moment I made an inbound pass the defender knocked the receiver down on the floor, causing the pass to sail out of bounds on the other side of the court. I love the game but I think the developers are using a different definition of "strict" than I use when it comes to officiating
