Re: So what is exactly Extreme Passing? (NBA2K3)???
when maximum passing is on
how much pressure u put on the pass button will determine
what kind of pass the player will do
Hold the pass button and you will get a bounce pass/chess pass
Tap the pass button and you will get a lob type pass
hope that helps

Re: So what is exactly Extreme Passing? (NBA2K3)???
I have to say it's not that big a feature, IMHO. In fact, ID 2003 pretty much has the same kind of thing since you can pretty much distinguish between making a lob pass and a bullet pass. And the game handles it more intelligently than in NBA 2k3. In NBA 2k3, you have to be way too careful, to the point where it's just ineffective with maximum passing trying to make bullet passes. it's just not intelligent, IMHO. It's a decent idea though, it just needs a lot more thought over how to implement it properly. hopefully they do that for NBA 2k4.Comment

I think you have to be careful b/c it's new but it's much more realistic IMO. ID2003 you can throw a bullet pass from one side of the 3pt line to the other and it's like the ball just goes through the players. yes steals are made more on passes like that but that pass should NEVER get through. It just doesn't look right. Both games can improve their passing but 2k3 puts more of the fault in your hands and I think that's a step in the right direction. Once you get the hang of it it's great, and it makes you better than the person that doesn't which is what it's all about, beating someone b/c you're better skilled.Comment

I like the passing, you can lob it down to your big man in the post. You can throw a chest pass to the open man of a double team. and you can work the bounce pass to guarentee it wont be stolen.
Its really a stratergy for a 2 player game, you throw careless passes, your opponent will get the steal all game, but if you utilize this feature, your turnovers will be down alot. Makes the game realistic IMO.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

(old man voice)Lemme tell ya somethin sonny.
Just kidding, but i agree with you, it feels more realisstic b/c the more skilled player does win. NHL 2k3 incorporates the same type of thing where there are diffrent types of passes to master in order to become a good passer.
I mean anybody can aim and press a pass button, with a 95% chance of getting to your target. But Sega reduces those chances by making you learn how to pass. I actually like the speed of the passes, not on a break but in the half court offense.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

the speed of the passes on the break are fine to me too. My only real problem with the passes is the hard bounce pass. It's the only one that's out of your control. If you hold the button you don't know if it's a chest pass or hard bounce pass and some back door cuts should receive hard bounce passes. Instead you have to lob to them every time to be effective. As someone mentioned in another thread, I'd like a bounce pass button... and how about if you hit the steal button when someone tries to make a hard bounce pass you kick the ball?Comment

Re: So what is exactly Extreme Passing? (NBA2K3)???
But I find sometimes that when I pass using just the button and the directional stick, it sometimes goes to the wrong guy. Like I mean wayyyyy off by about 60 or 70 degrees. I know I have fat thumbs, but not THAT bad.I use a combo of that plus I usually use the right stick on fast breaks because I find that the pass reciever doesnt' seem to stop in his tracks like they do with a normal button press pass.....

I use icon passing about 75%of the time, but thats what we were saying, it seems like you realy have master the pass on this game. I dont throw to many bad passes. When i first got the game, yes, but now its a breeze.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment
