The knicks had enough guards anyway. I think this move will benefit both allan and the knicks.Comment

Re: Allan Houston To Announce Retirement
he was scheduled to recieve 40 million over the next two years of his contract. i guarantee he was bullied out of that money. good job NY.
even when Houston initially got that big contract i was upset. Spree was the heart and soul of our team in the late 90s, i don't care what anyone says.Comment

Re: Allan Houston To Announce Retirement
Hey, maybe ya'll can talk to Spree about coming back now.And to think, I was wondering why they didn't use that Allan Houston rule. This is some crazy stuff on the real. I wonder if he's getting a desk job or something of significance cause $40 million is a hell of a lot of money. By the way, what the heck was wrong with him in the first place as to why he was sleeping on the IR??
New York looks a lot better now.
On another note, I'd love to thank OS for their excellent editing option. SWEETComment

Re: Allan Houston To Announce Retirement
Great news but they probably won't see the benefits of this until next year when houston's money comes off the cap. Even with Houston's money off the cap next year they will still be over the cap. Knicks are capped out for many years to come.Comment

Re: Allan Houston To Announce Retirement
As far as I know, this does nothing to help the cap. I think his money is still counted to the cap, just now Cablevision doesn't have to pay as much.

our cap is screwed, but this definitely helps our situation. we'll definitely find a way to wheel and deal something this season.Comment

Re: Allan Houston To Announce Retirement
Maybe I'm mistaken, but wasn't it not too long ago that Larry Brown was saying how Houston was all this and that and the Knicks would've been good last year with him? I forgot what he actually said.Comment

Re: Allan Houston To Announce Retirement
He was a great shooter. Still remember him hitting that shot vs the Heat I believe it was 99, and running towards the other end of the court and throwing a huge fist pump towards the camera. He's was really the least remaning link of the players in the Knicks-Heat rivalry.Comment

How does it help? It's not like they were afraid to spend money before this.
Can someone explain how this helps anyone but the Dolans?Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment
