Basketball contracts are really out of wack. Compared to some of the other outrageous contracts Tayshaun deserves it.Yankees
Cowboys
Knicks

He deserves every penny of it. He actually earned that on the court unlike many of the extensions we see just handed out.Comment

But when you consider Brian Cardinal got $38 and Adonal Foyle $42, seems about right.
You also have to consider that Bobby Simmons signed a contract worth around $50M this season to join the Bucks. Plus there are talks of Mike Dunleavy demanding around $45M as well for his contract extension with the Warriors. So Prince's contract value is comparable to both of these guys who also play the same position.

Dunleavy just signed today actually. But the terms weren't disclosed.Comment

You could argue that the entire starting lineup of the Pistons are at least top in each position Prince is underappreciated IMOComment

About $9M per. Ridiculous if you ask me. Kid's never done a thing in the league. I thought Mullin was doing a good job until this move.Comment

Heh, I don't exactly like the move especially with Pietrus back there.. They should have just let Dunleavy become an unrestricted FA and prove to everyone that he deserves that kind of money.Originally posted by bigeastbumrushhttp://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2209616

If you think about it... atleast Dunleavy knows how to play ball and has some upside, unlike Foyle and him receiving 40+ million for just being tall.I do because I can, I can because I want, I want because you say I can'tComment

Tayshan deserves that type of money.
Dunleavy's might be slightly overpaided, but I dont think its by that much. He's fits well on that team.Comment

Allan Houston comes to mind:Originally posted by PointguardDunleavy's might be slightly overpaided, but I dont think its by that much. He's fits well on that team.
Would any team have given him the same deal (sans daddy's Clippers)? Many times a team simply outbids themselves. I don't think he'd be on anyone's immediate radar if he went into the summer as a FA.Comment

Dunleavy is 23 years old. Comparing the two is unfair and just not right. Dunleavy still has room to improve. He's already a good passer and solid shooter. I think his ceiling is 19 ppg, 6-7 board and 3.5 assists per game.Comment
