    About Tim Duncan's height

Is it just me or did Duncan shrink an inch. I remember him being a 7 footer not too long ago. Or is the Afro on him causing me the confusion.

    Does it really matter?

To me it does because i think he should be moved to Center eventually because he's one of the best big men in the Western Conference. I also think a serviceable Power Forward is cheaper to get than renewing Nesterovic/Nazr/Manu's teammate's contracts.

That would definitely be a dumb move if they move him to Center. Think of all the players he'd have to play against. Well, at least he wouldn't have to play Stoudamire.

Why would that be dumb when he's one of the elite big men? OK, Shaq, Yao, and Amare when he comes back will give Duncan problems, but who else can match him as a big man.

No offense but he'd be more effective where he is. That's where I'd put him. Rather resign all those guys and have that depth at the big man instead of trying to get Duncan down there. He'd also have to get a lot more minutes if those players aren't signed. He's getting old. Maybe my explanation isn't good enough. Hey, that's life though.

What they list him at isn't going to change the position he's going to play.

In the Spurs offense, the Center and PF position are interchangable offensively. And Duncan is always going to guard the other teams best big man unless he's in foul trouble. It doesn't change anything. He's a PF/C as it is.

yeah, that's how I see the spurs C/PF positions. They do a great job with that too.

In basketball (period) the PF and C position are the same!

PF's are thought to be more mobile and hopefully athletic but that has never been TRUE. Strength is a key in playing in the post and a 6'8 guy could play center in the NBA or any BBall league.

PF and C are interchangeable howeva some offenses favor a good shooting PF,
who also can run the floor and is more mobile.
