I've heard a few people say this, and I'm wondering why some people might feel that way. I went with ID 2002 last year. I played like a game of 2k2 and thought it was too hard, and when I watched the CPU play it was like woah, like watching a real game. Also, i may remember wrong but the graphics looked pretty damn good...maybe better than 2k3s? I don't remember real well, but anyway the point of this post is just to see who out there thinks 2k2 is better and why.

2k2 for the DC was an awesome game.. not nearly as deep as 2k3 is in off-season endeavors, but the actual game part of it was alot of fun.
all 2k3 needs is "freestyle" and maybe some high schoolers coming out in the draft and it would be so very very awesome. -

No it wasnt a better game. The Defensive AI was worse than this years. FG percentages were to high. There was a goaltending bug. Open jump shots were automatic and there were very few foul calls.
2k3 isnt perfect but its a better game than 2k2.Comment

I don't think it was better, but I do think some of the things that 2k3 excluded that was in 2k2 wasn't the best decision.Comment

2k2 better than 2k3.
The DC version was cool, I still play it from time to time. As for the XB version, the faces were not even close, the AI was better than the DC version, but that goaltending bug was a killer. You would be trying to go for a rebound and wham! "That's goaltending, count the bucket!" Nothing like getting those in a close game, down to wire. 
I hated that once in franchise, you couldn't change the length of the quarters. (Something that ID 2003 does). 2k3 isn't perfect, but its better than 2k2.

2k2 for the DC is the 2nd best basketball game ever developed (LIVE 2000 PC still #1). but ID is a close second...I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...Comment

one of the things i liked about 2k2 was the fact that in a 5 min. quarter game you would get realistic scores, not stats. and ya nba live 2000 for pc, i had countless hours playing that game, it was awesome, if my disc wasn't scratched i probably would still be playing it."If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking." -- George S. Definitely disagree with NBA 2k2 being better than ID 2003. The AI used too much zone defense in NBA 2k2 for the DC. I have the game and I noticed they played zone a LOT. Also, it still had the same problems (i.e. no blocking fouls, no fouls resulting from running into players etc.) I think ID 2003 is now the best b-ball game yet, NBA Live 2000 for the PC might be second though. NBA 2k3 maybe third despite its flaws because they did fix a lot of them, though there's still some major tweaking to be done.Comment

neovsmatrix, I don't know what you're smoking, but 2k2 definitely did have blocking fouls. I must've logged something like 200 hours on that game alone last year ( I was too poor to get a new system) and I know I got blocking called on me all the time. 2k2 was an excellent game, better than live 2002 for the ps2, at least in my opinion. Oh. Ok, I'll take your word for it. I have the game, I just haven't played it since last year. However, it still didn't have blocking fouls in terms of running into players with turbo on. I think NBA 2k1 had that, so I don't know why NBA 2k2 and NBA 2k3 don't. Although NBA 2k1 was by no means perfect in that area either.Comment

He didn't mention which version of ID, so I assumed he meant the latest one since the lastest one is a LOT better than last year's version. I have yet to play ID 2003 (or whatever the newest version is), but I have played Live 2003 and I own 2k3. I still think 2k3 is the best, it's just my opinion, I just prefer the way it plays and the deep franchise mode. Live 2003 however, is much improved over last year's game which was a piece of poop. The new freestyle control thing is really cool, but it is not the only thing that has made it better. EA just sorta stepped up and finally made it a decent game. I'm hoping to try ID soon, but I can't buy because I don't really have an XBOX heh.Lux y VeritasComment
