Its not about his value being low because it isnt.

Believe me, noone else in the NBA would start Ryan Bowen, let alone let him play so many minutes.

    But

Leave it up to JVG to not only cripple his stars with a 4 on 5 basketball game, but think Bowen deserves quality minutes.

agreed. RJ for Stro is completely ridiculous.

Also, In 4 years, Stro couldn't beat out Lorenzen Wright either.

Ryan Bowen isn't taking any minutes from Stro. Its the enforcer Juwan Howard. Maybe I have missed the games where Bowen plays PF (or Swift plays SF) but it seems Swift's minutes go to Mutombo, Yao and Howard.

Ryan Bowen is taking minutes from the Derek Anderson's, Luther Head's, David Welsey's, ect. I also think injuries deal with Bownen's PT but we will see.

Its not that you can sign someone but I think the point is that the difference between Marc Jackson and Stro Swift is small as of now. Getting a lotto pick, probably 10-12 could get Houston a young, athletic guy to replace Swift.

To me, the reason Houston's struggled is because they are so average besides Yao/Tmac.
