Re: What a joke
That is just stupid for Armstrong. His lockeroom clearly says Dallas, and his paycheck clearly says DALLAS. Why the heck would he cheer on a team in public that is not paying him his paycheck. It's okay to cheer for other teams or whatnot, but not in front of crowd that pays your check. It's just rude. As if the loss is not enough to quiet the crowd now they have a player representing thier city cheering on the other side right in front of the fans mug. If I am a Dallas fan, I would bbboooo his tail everytime I see him. I'll even have a sign that says "bag this double faced guy to the wasteland of NBA".Comment

Re: What a joke
I think they fined him because his actions might have alienated some of their fans who are most likely also Cowboys fans. IMO it has much more to do with the fact the Skins beat the Cowboys than the fact he cheered for Washington. Actually this is not unique to sports. In pretty much any business doing something that is likely to alienate your company's customer base will incur some penalty from management.Comment

1k fine is not even a slap on the wrist. It was more of a pr move, you don't want to piss Jerry off if you are Cuban. The Sports Preacher

Thats exactly how i feel. especially for a rival team like the skins. franchises always work together within a city and that doesn't show any support for the other teams.Comment

I still think some people take sports WAY too seriously. It's just a sport, why fine someone for just a silly comment. WAY TOO SERIOUS!Comment

Anyways, ya'll dont understand. Armstrong went and got the mic without getting permission from anyone and started his little rant. I know people who were at the game that said DA was funny (even though they are Cowboys fans) and they said Cuban was cracking up, but there is a right way to do something and a wrong way to do something. DA did it the wrong way.
And like already mentioned, its a PR move. Dallas was, is and will cotninue to be a Cowboys town. Allowing a Dallas basketball player to rip the most opoular team isn't gonna help sales or selling tickets in the future. Some will find it funny and some wont.
$1,000 dollars is like 10 dollars to us. Its not that big of a deal. If it was, you'd see Armstrong saying something in the paper about it.
Just another example of Cuban being a great business person and still building one heck of a basketball team.Comment
